I had some new messages. The first few was just scam. The last one, however, wasn't. I clicked on it. My eyes widened in shock and panic. I screamed as I pushed away from my desk. Dad rushed over and read the e-mail. The e-mail read:
Dear Jess,
Remember me? Chad Dylan. Guess what happened today? I got out of prison. The time has come and you knew it. You knew that I would eventually escape prison. Do you know what made it possible for me to escape? My hatred for you! How could you betray me like that? I loved you! Too late now to apologize for texting the cops that night. I should have killed you then and end your miserable life. You'll pay for it now. I will find you and I will kill you this time! I still know your number by memory so expect a call from me, you bitch! I also know where you live. That's where I'm typing you this e-mail. Hope to see you soon so I can gut you like a fish.
Love,
Chad Dylan
I couldn't breathe. All I could see is the e-mail and Chad's face. Dad immediately made a copy and deleted the message. He quickly got the copy and called the police. I just sat there, staring in front of me. I couldn't move. He was going to kill me. I guess I can't have a normal day here at the office without anything personal related happening. I felt a hand on my arm and I flinched. I looked up, panicked that I would see Chad but was relieved when I saw Tony. He looked confused and worried. I smiled, weakly but he saw right through it. I looked back in front of me when my phone rang. I slowly answered the phone. "Hello?" I asked. "Miss. Gibbs, this is Officer Raol. I am here to regretfully inform you that..." he said before I interrupted. "That Chad Dylan escaped prison" I said. "Yea, how'd you know?" he asked. "He sent me an e-mail from my house or at least he says" I replied. I sounded like I was dead. "I'll send a few dispatchers to your house to check it out but it's not likely that he will stay there" Officer Raol said. "Thanks Officer Raol" I said and hung up. Dad came back over to me. "Officer Raol is having a few dispatchers check my house to see if he was there or not" I informed. "Are you okay?" he asked. I looked at him in disbelief. "Am I okay? He's out! He threatened to kill me! He's been in my house! So, no, I'm not okay!" I yelled. Dad looked down. "I'm sorry Jess" he said. I scoffed and stood up. I left and went into the girl's bathroom. I collapsed onto the floor. I curled up into a ball and broke down crying. The door opened and in came Ziva. She walked over and sat down next to me but stayed silent. I sighed. "He's out, Ziva. He escaped like I knew he would. Now, he's going to find me and kill me like he should have done that night" I whispered.
"Jess, he will be caught. He's not going to hurt you anymore" Ziva whispered. I looked down and played with my hands. "You don't know him like I do, Ziva. He won't stop till I'm dead" I said. "He hasn't met me, Jess. I'm a trained assassin. He isn't" Ziva said. I smiled, weakly. I looked at her with tear stained cheeks. "What do I do? I'm scared and afraid. I want this to be done" I said. She smiled. "You stay strong and you stick with us. We will take care of you and we always will. Don't forget that" Ziva said. I smiled. "Thanks Ziva" I said. "I'm going to go and help get this bastard but you can stay here" Ziva said. I nodded in thanks. She left so I was alone. I got scared so I got up and went back into the squad room. Everyone was there looking at the plasma with a picture of Chad. Tears formed in my eyes again but I wiped them away. I walked closer till I was next to Tony. Everyone paused, looking at me. I just looked at the board. "What are you guys doing?" I asked. No one answered. I looked at Tony and he looked worried. I sighed and looked down. "Dad, did you tell them?" I asked. "I had to, Jess" he replied. I nodded in understanding. "Thanks for doing it without me here. I couldn't handle it" I said. I wiped away more tears that fell from my eyes. I leaned against Tony and he put his arm around my waist, holding me up. I yawned. "Dad, I'm going to go to sleep again. I am going home with you dad" I said. I walked away from the board and to Tony's chair. I curled up on the floor, under the desk and closed my eyes. I soon fell asleep.
Tony's POV:
Jess walked over to my desk and laid down on the floor, under my desk. I didn't mind. I felt bad for her. Her nightmares must have been about this bastard, Chad Dylan. How could he do that to her? I have to admit, when she leaned on me, I was happy. I felt sparks from where we made contact. If only she wasn't a co-worker or m boss's daughter, I would totally flirt with her. I was still staring at my desk when Ziva hit my arm. I turned around and faced the board again. "Yes?" I asked. Gibbs went on about this Chad Dylan and what he had done. I was tired by the end of it. "Boss? I think we should all stay here and watch over Jess. She's already sleeping and I don't want to wake her up" I said. He looked at me like he was studying me. "Good idea, Dinozzo. Everyone is staying here to keep an eye out on her" he ordered. We all nodded and went to our desks. I looked down and saw Jess, curled up into a little ball. I smiled. She looked so cute and adorable. I laid down on the ground next to her and closed my eyes, after sneaking another look at Jess. I fell asleep soon after with dreams filled with Jess and Chad Dylan.
