Chapter 6
The next day...
Riker POV
I was exhausted. I'd barely gotten any sleep. All that food I ate had disagreed with my stomach, and I was up all night, going to the bathroom. So much for not being hungry...
I was starving again, and there were still 2 hours until Jim comes to take me to breakfast. But I didn't feel so sick anymore. I just felt hungry...
Well guess who showed up at my door 2 hours early.
"Jim!"
"What?"
"I'm starving!"
"It's not time for breakfast. I was just wondering if you wanted to go take a shower."
"Oh... Yes. And then can I have breakfast?"
"Riker, breakfast won't be out for another couple hours."
"But I'm so hungry!"
"I could take you down to get a snack-"
"Yes!"
"Ok."
Jim brought me down to the cafeteria.
"Are you going to stay with me?" I asked.
"Yes."
I quickly got some fruit, and then ate. After that, I showered, and then Jim brought me back down for breakfast.
"Are you going to stay with me?" I asked.
"I have watch duty. Sorry, Riker."
I sighed, staring down at the floor. I got some breakfast, and then went over to a table in the corner.
I tried to eat quickly, but as soon as I was finished, one of the guys from a few days ago came and sat down next to me. I was sitting next to the wall, so I was kind of trapped.
"What's up, Rikey?"
My breathing sped up like crazy. I felt like I could hear my heart pounding in my ears. I'm going to die!
"I said, what's up, Rikey!?"
The guy shoved my shoulder a little, causing me to make a squeaking sound. I covered my face with my hands, anticipating the worst.
He shoved my shoulder harder this time, and ended up knocking me off balance. I fell off the chair, onto the floor. The guy grabbed the front of my jumpsuit, and forcefully pulled me up. He started dragging me off somewhere. I couldn't exactly do anything about it.
He brought me to a group of other scary looking people in one of the corners of the cafeteria. He let me go, but everyone was crowding around me, so I couldn't run. I took a step back, and crashed into a table. I was trapped.
I looked up at all the guys surrounding me. They all had evil looking smirks on their faces.
Within seconds, someone grabbed me, and slammed me into the table. I heard glass smashing under me as the table gave way. I fell hard to the floor on top of smashed plates and glasses. And then I felt a sharp pain in the back of my head.
One guy grabbed my arm, and pulled me up. I heard shouting from all around me, but I couldn't see clearly. I was thrown down onto the smashed glass again, and this time, I felt pain all in my back from the glass.
I wrapped my arms around myself, and squirmed, trying to get away from the pain. I was sobbing now. Every time I moved, it just made the pain worse. I had my eyes shut tightly, scared I'd get slammed down on the glass again.
I could hear shouting still, and footsteps all around me.
"Riker."
I recognized that voice as Jim's, and I opened my eyes to see him kneeling on the floor next to me.
"Are you ok?"
I shook my head no quickly. My hands were shaking, and I couldn't even speak.
Jim put his hand under my shoulder, and had me sit up. The pain on the back of my head was intense. I tried to touch it, but my handcuffs were making that hard. I was straining against them, and my wrists were starting to hurt.
Jim made me stand up, and he started walking me out of the cafeteria. I was practically screaming in pain now, but I didn't care if it was embarrassing. It hurt too much!
Once we were out in the hallway, Jim made me stop walking.
"Don't you dare pull anything."
He took my hands, and unlocked the handcuffs. I pressed my hands to the back of my head, and they felt wet. I looked at one of them, and saw bright red blood. It only made me cry harder, knowing I was bleeding.
Jim took one of my arms, and started leading me down hallways. We eventually got to the health office.
They had me lay down on my stomach on some table. They took off my shoes and jumpsuit, leaving me in just my socks and underwear. I still had my hands pressed to the back of my head.
I kept shifting around uncomfortably on the table.
"Riker, you need to stay still. There's glass in your back."
"It hurts!"
They pried my hands away from my head, and restrained me on the table so I could move at all. It felt like I couldn't breathe.
"Riker, we need you to calm down, ok? You're shaking, and it's making it hard to get the glass out safely."
I couldn't calm down! I'm in too much pain, I'm scared to death, and I want to go home!
Someone grabbed my arm, and stuck a needle in it. I felt really weak, and then everything went black.
