Once Zonnique made it to Cali, she didn't even bother getting a hotel. She made her way over to Princeton's house where she apologized for her actions. It killed her inside, but what could she do? She was desperate and in need of Isabella's forgiveness. It took everything in Princeton to forgive her, but he did, considering what'd happened to Bahja.
When she got herself comfortable on the couch, Princeton slowly sat down beside her.
"Why didn't you come?"
"What?" Zonnique scoffed.
"Why didn't you go to your best friend's funeral? Don't you think she wouldn't wanted you there out of all people?"
"Prince, look me in my face." Zonnique said as she pointed her index finger towards herself.
"Do you not see how red and puffy my eyes look? I've been crying over her death for the pass week. I haven't been eating right, sleeping right, or talking to anyone. I didn't want to attend my best friend's funeral and she would understand. TRUST me."
Princeton shook his head then stood up. "I guess that's a good excuse." he said, referring back to what him Ray fought over.
He made his way into the burnt and smoky kitchen, only putting more stress on his behalf. As he stood and stared at his kitchen, Zonnique made her way into the kitchen. "Prince, I-"
She stopped once the smell of burnt walls and furniture hit her nose. "Damn!" she yelled.
"Prince, WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED! How did the kitchen catch on fire?!"
"Bella left the stove on. We're getting it repaired sometime next week." he sighed.
"What did your mom say about this? Everything is so... burned! Look at your trophy that you won at the BET awards!"
"My mom and dad isn't here.. I don't know where they are, actually.."
"Prince, that's horrible!" Zonnique gasped.
She shook her head as she stepped more onto the black, burned floor. The stickiness of it being burned up stuck to the bottom of her feet each time she tried to lift them up. When she made her way to the kitchen, she grabbed his trophy which had been melted in the fire. She slowly picked what was left of it up then brought it over to him.
"Keep this.." she said as her voice started to shake. Princeton raised his eyebrows up as he sat up from leaning on the wall.
"Keep this, Prince. You never know when the boys will leave you. You should always have something that'll represent your friendship to the fullest."
With that, she motioned it towards him as he slowly grabbed it.
"Wow.. I- I never thought about that, Zonnique."
"You see how quick that fire happened? That's how quick it was with me and... Bahja's friendship. It went by so fast. Too fast. And I never even got to say goodbye."
Princeton lowered his head to the ground then rubbed his lips together.
He hated it, but he knew Zonnique was right about the friendship part. "Okay." he said. "Thanks, Zonnique."
She leaned in and gave him a tight hug before letting go.
Later on that day, Princeton drove them both to the hospital where they could talk to Isabella. When they saw Zonnique come through the door, security immediately grabbed her by her arms, shoving her back out the door. "Wait, wait! She's just coming to apologize!" Princeton yelled at them as he helped Zonnique up.
"Sir, she is not aloud in this building." the officer said as he held his hand up.
"We've warned her the last time to NOT come back. The next time she walks in this building, we'll have the right to throw her in jail."
