I was mostly entertained with 'My Lost One' for a while but every so often my mind would wonder to my parents.
'what happened to them?'
The one question that no one could answer. I just wish I could remember. I had just finished 'My Lost One' and it was only 3:00 P.M. so I grabbed another book. This one had a black background and a white flower in the middle. It was missing some petals which were on the floor. The book cover gave the effect that there was a spotlight on the flower, and on the flower only. The title read: Wilting Flowers.
The book though, looked a lot older then My Lost One or any of the other books Gajeel had given me. It looked as though it had been through an explosion but still managed to survive. The corners of the pages were burnt off and the cover and side had multiple holes. It was still readable and it looked like a good story so I just started to read it.
*time skip 2 hours*
I was in the middle of page 207 when I heard the door unlock and Gajeel come in. His jumpsuit looked even dirtier then before. His face had dark gray smudges all over his face that made him look super hot.
'levy!!'
His hair looked super knotted and frizzy which made him look even more hot.
'ok levy this is getting out of hand! just stop staring at him like an idiot!'
I then just looked away and looked at my book pretending to be reading. I heard his footsteps grow louder and louder until I felt a tap on the shoulder. I turned around to see Gajeel smirking at me. To try and stop myself from blushing I said, "How was work?" He shrugged and went and sat next to me on the couch.
Our shoulders were only millimeters away from touching and my heart was racing 200 miles per hour. "It was ok." Was all he said. Then, all of a sudden, I heard a weird sounding noise. It almost sounded like an engine that wasn't working properly.
Then I felt a sharp pain in my stomach and I knew I was starving. "Oh crap!" He said while getting up and heading towards the kitchen. "I'm really sorry Levy I didn't even think of leaving ya food" He said while putting some noodles in a boiling pot. "It's fine! I was-" I was cute off by my stomach acing in protest. I just sat there.
'way to go stomach!'
I swear that thing is never on my side. "It's not fine. I'm real sorry" He said while getting some tomato sauce ready. I didn't say anything until he picked me up and put me on the same chair as before with a hot plate of pasta on it. "Thanks!" I squealed and I dug in. I think Gajeel could own a restaurant.
After I finished we watched a movie and ate popcorn. It was about a dragon who fell in love with a fairy. I was surprised Gajeel would even watch the movie. I had to practically beg him to watch it. He pretended to hate it but some times I would steal quick glances at him and see that he was interested.
Once the movie was done we played some board games and watched Netflix. "What time is it?" I asked yawning. I checked the clock on the stove and it read: 3:00 A.M. My eyes widened at the sight. "I think we should be going to sleep" I said stretching my arms out. He picked me up and brought me to my room. Once my face hit the pillow, I was out cold.
*time skip 6 months*
A lot has happened since I first got to Gajeel's house. First of all, I could finally walk! Which was great because now Gajeel didn't have to carry me everywhere. I was also able to start some online classes since I couldn't remember going to school or anything. Gajeel built me 4 book shelfs because of all the books he bought me.
'he's such a good guy. even if he doesn't show it'
Gajeel and I had grown a lot closer. Even though I lived with him, I still got butterflies in my stomach whenever I was around him. I didn't know why and it was driving me crazy. At some point I thought I had a disease. Then a thought found it's way into my brain.
'do i like gajeel?'
I mean, I love him like a brother but..... Just as I was thinking it over I heard a bang! I was my bedroom and the sound came from my library. It made me jump. What if someone broke through my window? What if there here to kill me? I started to panic.
Gajeel wasn't home because he was at work which made it that much more scary. After awhile I crept down stairs and got a frying pan. I tiptoed back up stairs and when I got to my library door, I rushed in there with frying pan in hand. I looked around the room and saw nothing. The window wasn't even open. I let out a sigh of relief and put the pan down on my desk. I then almost tripped over a book that was on the floor.
'i guess this is what fell'
I picked the book up and saw the title: Wilting Flowers. I automatically remembered reading it because it was one of my favorite books I had read. I decided to flip through it a little bit just to bring back some memories of it. I was had just finished flipping through the pages when I noticed that the last page was a lot thicker then the rest of the pages.
It was also more sturdy and ruff. I ran my finger along the edge of the page when I felt a small crease. I dug my nail into it to try to see if two pages were stuck together. When I was finally able to unseparate the two pages a folded piece of paper fell to the floor. It looked really old and worn out. It had blotches of beige marks all over it. It also looked like it had been folded over many times.
Curious, I picked it up and unfolded it. I was only able to read the first word when I heard Gajeel walk in. I rushed down stairs to show him the note. "Hey Shrimp! Whatcha got there?" He asked seeing that I was reading the piece of crumpled paper. After I finished reading it I just stared at it with a questioning look o my face. "What?" He asked. "Do you know what this is?" I asked, perplexed at the address and the message on the note.
He grabbed the paper and looked at it. His eyes then started to widen. "What is it?" I asked urgently. He looked like he was holding the most deadly thing on earth. After a silence as long as some lives he finally responded. "This is my mom's handwriting."
'his mom's?'
He continued to stare at the paper. "Is that bad?" I questioned. "My mom......she........" He said putting the paper down and rubbing his face with his hands. I went over to him and grabbed both of his hands into mine, which made my face heat up. "You don't have to tell me if you're not comfortable" I said reassuringly.
I mean, I did want to know what happened to his mom but I wasn't going to pry. "One night when I was little, my mom said she had to go somewhere and that she would be back in the morning but........she never came back." He said sternly pulling his hands out of mine and rubbing his temples. "I've always thought that she was dead or left me" I really didn't know what to say.
'if this is his mom's handwriting then maybe she didn't die'
"Gajeel, I think you should go to that address and do what it says" I said calmly. On the one it had an address and a message that read: Look behind the blue bag. I had no idea what it meant but maybe if he went there he could figure it out. He just stood there looking down. After an eternity he finally said, "Let's go."
