He grabbed his keys and headed towards the door. His strides were so long I had to practically run to keep up with him. We got into his Volvo and sped off. He was going 20 miles over the speed limit but he did that all the time. And whenever I would try to stop him, he wouldn't have it. He already put the address on his phone so it would keep telling him where to go. He looked tense and his hands were gripping the wheel really hard.

'i think he's nervous.....'

I mean, if you found a note from your supposedly dead mom telling you to go somewhere I think you would be nervous too. I couldn't help be get nervous either. I wondered what we wee going to find "behind the blue bag" and I hoped it was still there. We didn't know when the note was written, so maybe whatever his mom was referring to wasn't even there. I had not noticed that we were driving down a deserted road.

The last time I looked up there were tons of cars around us but now, there was not even one. The I heard, "Your destination is on your left" And I knew that we were there. I could feel my insides move around and my heart beat 10 times it's usual rate. He parked the car on the side of the road an got off. I quickly followed. Once I got out I saw a massive parking lot. It looked like a bomb had blown up there.

There was rust on the metal poles, dirt on the floor, rats looking through the garbage on the side, and plenty other gross things. It looked like a crime scene to be honest. Gajeel walked towards the middle and looked around. I scanned the area to find the blue bag. I didn't see anything. I was guessing his didn't either because he cursed and threw his keys on the floor. He picked them right back up but he didn't look calm.

Just then, a huge black cat came out of a pile of black trash bags. I screamed and ran away form it. I knew it was stupid but I was small ok. After my little "episode" I saw that the cat knocked over one of the trash bags to reveal a.....BLUE BAG!!! I nearly jumped for joy as I said "Gajeel!! Look!!" I pointed at the blue bag and he ran towards it.

I soon followed. He reached his hand out slowly. I could see sweat on his forehead and his hand was trembling. I put my hand on his shoulder. When he finally pushed the blue bag aside, on the floor was a fake white flower and another note. He was just staring at it so I decided to pick up the flower, and the note. It read:

To: Gajeel

From: Mom

I'm sorry.

He just stared blankly at the note. "What the hell?" He almost screamed and snatched the note for my hand. " 'I'm sorry.' What is that even supposed to mean?! What did she think I could get form this?!" He said while pacing. "Gajeel, maybe she had not time.

I mean, the note looked like it was written in a rush so-" I was cut off my Gajeel saying, "It doesn't matter! She should have at least told me why she left!!!" I opened my mouth to say something but decided against it.

'i think i should just leave him alone...'

After a couple minutes of Gajeel mumbling things he went towards the car. I followed and got in. The silence between us was a very uncomfortable one. I just played with my fingers and tried not to look at him.

Once we got to the house he turned off the car, got out, and just went into the house. Not a word. I sighed and got out of the car. I opened the door to the house and trudged in. I went upstairs and collapsed on my bed. I didn't see Gajeel so I just guessed that he was in his room. What am I going to do?

I didn't really know the answer so I just tried to go to sleep. I kept tossing and turning all night. All I wanted to do was go to Gajeel and comfort him, but I didn't really know how. What also kept tugging at my and was his mom's letter..... "I'm sorry." What was she sorry for? Leaving him? Something she might have done? Yet, another question I couldn't answer. I finally fell asleep but nightmares haunted me all the way through it.

*time skip next morning*

I woke up pretty early because I could see the sun peeking through the horizon ready to jump out at any given time. I slowly got out of my bed and put my socks on. I wanted to be as quiet as I could so I wouldn't wake up Gajeel. Once I put my socks on, I headed out the door. I tiptoed downstairs to get breakfast.

To my great surprise I saw Gajeel, in his tank top and shorts, sitting at the table observing the fake white flower we found yesterday. I walked over to him and sat across form him. It took me awhile to speak but I finally did. "Gajeel, if you need someone to talk to I'm right here. I know what it's like not to know what happened to your parents...." He just stiffened but never took his eyes off the flower. I just sighed.

I wanted to try again. "What do you think she was sorry for?" I asked. "That damned woman has a lot to be sorry for." He said sternly putting the flower down. He then got up and made eggs. We didn't exchange a word. Not even one. After I finished and he finished, he went upstairs. Soon after he came down with his dirty jumpsuit. Instead of saying goodbye, he just waved and left. I groaned and kicked the air.

'what can i do to help him?'

There was nothing I really could do for him considering I did't even know or remembered his mom. I went upstairs and got put the book I was reading. It was about a shy guy who likes a girl that secretly has superpowers. He finds out but sill loves her. I had a really big soft spot for romance books.

Romance was my favorite genre. I was in the middle of reading page 356 when an idea popped up in my head. I quickly grabbed my phone and searched up the hospital I was in. I looked at the number and dialed. There were 3 rings then there was an automated message. "If you would like to speak to a patient press 1. If you would like to know information about a patient press 2-" Before it could finish I pressed 2.

Elevator music came on for a couple minutes until a woman answered. "Hello how may I help you?" She asked sweetly. "Hello! I would like to know information about myself. I was a patient at the hospital." I said. "What's your name Miss?" She asked. "Levy McGarden" I said. I could hear the sound of computer keys being pressed and a mouse click. "I have you right here. It says that you have memory loss, is that correct?" She asked. "Yes. I would like to know my previous address"
