Chapter 5 - The bookstore

Scarlett's POV
"Aah books." I said as I looked around my favorite bookstore. Booooks. My favorites. Like number one on my heart. "Lettie, aren't you gonna help me?" Mom snapped her fingers then I looked at her. Oh yeah, I forgot the reason why were here. We are here to buy the things I need for hell I mean school. I was hoping that mom will buy me some new books. "Yeah, sorry." I helped mom picked up the things on her list then goes to the notebook sections. I picked up some notebooks that i need and get three extra notebooks just in case i don't have any space to write on my notebooks. I looked around then something catches my eye. I saw a notebook that has a design of universe. Like the one you see on Tumblr. The sketchy thingy universe. I walked towards the notebook. I was about to picked it up when suddenly a boy picked it. I looked at him then mumbles. "Noooo I want thaaat." I said on my brain. The boy looked at me. "Uh miss you okay?" He asked, waving his hand on my face. That voice... No its not... Denzel? I looked at him. "Ye-yeah so-sorry.." I said shyly. What am i acting shy so suddenly? He handed over the universe notebook. "Here, i think you really want this notebook." He said, giving me the notebook. "No no, its ok you can have it." I said, rejecting to take it. I want it but he picked it up first. He picked up the white universe notebook. "No no, its ok i have a white one." He said then smiles. I swear to unicorns that if this is denzel im gonna hug him. They really looked alike! Denzel have brown eyes like me, have greyish hair, tall like me but he's more taller than me. I looked at his sweater that says "obey". I like his sweater. I took the notebook from his hands. I noticed something on his wrist. "Thanks." I said with a smile. "No prob." As he walked away. I looked at the notebook then starts to find mom. Is that really Denzel? Like I noticed his wrist and it his my name on it and the designs are looked alike from the bracelet i gave to Denzel. I used black strings, actually not really strings its more like uh.. I forgot, ok let just call it black strings. I also used a piece of small wood then carved his name. "Nah Scarlett, stop assuming." I thought to myself. But it can't be someone else.. That really look like the bracelet I gave to him when we were ten.

(Flashback)
"Denzie!" I shouted, running to him. He looked at me. "Huh?" I stopped in front of him before he go. Denzie is gonna move somewhere now. I wrapped around the bracelet that i made on his right wrist. It has his name on it. Its color black while the letters were white. I raised my left wrist, showing my own made bracelet. "I want you to wear that all the time ok? Even when we grow up we're still gonna wear this." I said to him, smiling. He looked at the bracelet then looked back at me. "Yes ma'am." Then he saluted me. I giggled then saluted back. He hugged me tight then said, "I'm gonna miss you, Lettie." He whispered. I hugged him back. "Im gonna miss you too.." I replied. "Denzie? Come on we're gonna miss the train." Aunt Tina said. He let go of me then goes to his mom, aunt Tina.

I let out a huge sighed. I miss Denzel.. I looked at my left wrist that has my name on it. I used white strings on this and a piece of small wood with my name carved on it. The letterings were black. I spotted mom on the cashier already and saw him again from the other cashier next to us. "Even when i looked at him at the back, he really looked like denzel!" I thought to myself. I ran to mom then puts the notebook on the register table. "Dont you think thats a lot?" Mom told me. "Nah it looks a lot because of the extra notebooks." I replied. "Oh ok then." She said. Mom paid the stuff we bought then the lady put them inside a reusable bag. I picked them up, helping mom. "7 days before school starts."
