If you force yourself to forget me,
I won't stop you.
If you force yourself away,
I won't come after you.
If you want to hide,
I won't find you.
By then, I must have stopped
Feeling
By then, I must have stopped
Caring
By then, all my tears must have fallen
By then, my screams must have stopped their echoes.
I should've stopped this long ago.
God knows I tried and even bled trying.
But my heart had the strength of stone
And once it was broken, it was beyond repairable.
I shouldn't have believed the lie that says
'A broken heart can heal.'
Because it doesn't.
It can only stop aching.
