Please Wake Up

After a few more check ups, they allowed Nat to see Emma. She was lead by her doctor who warned her to keep her voice calm. Emma could still hear and they don't want to stress her out. When they got to EJ's room, Kate was waiting outside with her left arm in a cast. When Kate saw Natalie she ran up to her and gave her a one armed hug.
"I'm so sorry, Nat. It was all my fault. I-"
"No. It wasn't. Your fine, I'm fine, Emma Jane is...."
"Alive."
"Yeah."
Natalie and Kate walked into Emma's room and as soon as Nat saw the love of her life lying there on a hospital bed hooked up to at least a dozen machines and an oxygen mask on her face she lost all hope. All happiness and joy inside her seemed to flush out of Natalie's body. Emma.....
Natalie walked up to Emma Jane and took her hand. Her hand was cold. Like a...... no. She wouldn't allow herself to think like that. It's just a come she will wake up. She has to. Oh, please wake up.
Kate started to cry. "You were unconscious for two days and whenever I visited you I would hear you mutter something. I thought I was crazy and the doctors did to. They said you physically could not speak, but I swear I heard you calling out her name."
Natalie squeezed EJ's hand, her engagement ring on it.
"Please wake up." Natalie said. As the words escaped her lips she thought she saw Emma Jane twitch. Maybe she could hear. Maybe she is trying to wake up. To be with Natalie. But, alas, nothing happened. She was still lying unconscious on a solid white bed in a solid white room and no life in her.
