Loki groaned, laying his head down on his desk. "Wipe that look off your face." He grumbled, knowing without looking that she was smirking at him.
"Giving up?" She asked.
"No. I'm just taking a rest." He rationalized. Though neither if them had gotten a very good rest the night before, it had been him who had gotten the worst of it. He had been pacing for a couple hours before finally going to the library and grabbing a large volume from the library, to use to put himself the sleep. He yawned.
"Your tired too?" She asked, and he heard her yawn herself.
He nodded. "And it's affecting my magic, so it's probably affecting yours too." He had noticed her having a bit of trouble with the spells she had been learning.
"Remember how you promised me you'd tour me around the castle today?" Angel asked, and he internally moaned. 'Oh joy' he thought sarcastically. He looked up at her and nodded. "Well, I think we're both too tired today. Can we do it tomorrow?" She asked, yawning again. He couldn't help but smirk a little.
"Did my beautiful face keep you up at night?" He teased. She rolled her eyes, one of her only signs she was ever annoyed. Walking away, she picked up some hard cover book and settled on the couch.
Angel was having a hard time keeping her focus. It wasn't that Treasure Island wasn't exciting, it was just that her lack of sleep plus the strange feeling she seemed to develop every time Loki was around made her mind wander. Forcing herself back to her book before her mind wandered too far, she soon felt her eyelids begin to droop. It soon felt as though there were five ton anvils hanging from each one, and the effort to keep them open was too much. 'I'll just close my eyes for a minute...'
It took Loki a while to notice that the humming (which had become background noise to him) had stopped. Turning around, his eyes locked on his apprentice, who was sitting on a chair with her book open in her lap. "Angel?" He called, but there was no answer. She didn't even move. Slightly concerned, he walked over, and was glad to see she had simply fallen asleep. He chuckled and closed the book, folding over a corner and placing it on the side table. He couldn't help noticing how peaceful she looked. Not calm, like the aura she kept around her almost every waking hour, but actually restful.
Angel could hear someone calling her name, and could feel someone shaking her. "Angel! Angel!" The sound of her name pulled her back to earth, or to Asgard rather.
"What do you want Loki?" She groaned, sitting up and looking at the man.
"It's time to get ready for dinner." She rubbed the sleep out of her eyes, stood up, and walked out.
Advantia came into her room with a dress from Loki draped over her arm, as usual. "What bizarre piece are you going to pull from your bag today?" She asked. Angel turned from the window she was staring out of.
"Actually, I was thinking if wearing what Loki picked out for me." She said calmly. Advantia's jaw nearly hit the floor. Angel smirked slightly and sashayed past her, plucking the dress from the younger girl's arms. "What? She asked innocently. "I don't want to be predictable." She commented, holding it up to her self. Truth be told, it wasn't the predictability she was worried about. She just felt the pull to wear the dress that Loki had picked out for her. And it was a beautiful dress, cream with black lace that looked extremely delicate. She slipped into it with Advantia's help, and looked into the full length mirror that sat in the corner. She smiled slightly at her reflection. "Can you think of a hair style to go with this Advantia?" She asked, turning around to look at her friend. She tapped her chin and pretended to think.
