Vanessa's POV

I sat on the floor watching the fire. Something I've been doing for the past hour, sipping a cup of Cocoa in my hand. I had nothing better to do. Ryland and Luna were above me on the couch sleeping. Skiing today took all the energy out of them. Of course they were on the kiddie slopes, Laura being the protective person of Luna and Ry she is, she refused to let them ride down the big slopes. I can't blame her, we almost lost one of them already.

Rydel was on the island in the kitchen eating some pasta dad had made. I know shocking, a man that gets handed everything he wants knows how to cook? Normal people with a different life style. Everyone else was either in their room or somewhere in the lodge.

Mom and dad aren't home, no idea where they are when we got home they just weren't here. No one thought much of it. It's their honeymoon they're gonna be out, they don't wanna hangout with their kids.

I heard a rustling behind me, so I turned around to see Ryland rubbing his eyes. I turned back around realizing he was just getting a bit more comfortable. I looked back at the fire and realized it was dimming down. I put my cup to lips only to realize it was completely empty.

I stood and walked over to the kitchen sink and put the cup in there. I looked behind me to see Rydel, moving her food around with her fork. I sighed and walked up the stairs to all the rooms. As I walked by I couldn't help but peek and see what everyone was doing.

Ratliff, he was sleeping. I chuckled quietly and shut his door for him. Rocky, wasn't in his room, probably somewhere in the rest of the lodge. Riker was on his IMac Pro, trying to finish a project that was due on Monday for school. Maia was reading 'The Fault In Our Stars'. Ross was sitting on his bed with hands over his face, no idea what's going on there. I was tempted to go and talk to him but then I glanced over at Laura in her room was typing on her computer.

I walked over to her room and knocked on the doorway. She looked for moment and continued to type on her computer. In the reflection of her glasses, I could see lots of zero's and the type of things you would see when your hacking into things, I've seen this girl do it before.

"What are you doing?" I asked suspiciously going to grab her laptop.

She instantly shut it down and looked at me innocently. I gave her a weird look before she looked around the room awkwardly for a moment went back to talking to me.

"Nothing, what's up?" She asked nonchalantly.

I didn't completely let go of the thought but, I did for now, "Go talk to Ross, something's up with him, don't know what, you figure it out"

"Why on earth would I do that?" She looked up me with a weird look on her face.

"Cause you care about him, and I know you want to know to" I simply before leaving her room and walking to my own.

Laura's POV

I rolled my eyes at her and put my laptop to aside. I got up from my bed and stumbled a little. My leg, whenever I'm not putting weight on it for a whole it kind doesn't have any feeling and I've literally being in bed since we got home. I wanna keep it low key. I don't wanna get shot again.

I walked across the hall to Ross's room and knocked on the door. I looked up for second and then looked back down. I guess that was the sign that I can come in, but obviously I didn't get that hint.

"Why are you just stand there, Laura?" He asked not even bother to look and me with his hand over his face.

"Oh right.." I said walking over to the chair from the desktop, "So what's up?"
