(I APOLOGISE IN ADVANCE! If you don't know why just read the flipping chapter!)

Kataleen

I was looking out my window. It was still sunrise, and I had the same bad dream I've been having for weeks. It was frustrating. And ever since Ms. Dowley's death the dreams came in more often. It even came when I dozed off on the trip home from the Weasley's place.

I sighed, resting my head on the windowsill. Just then I realised my familiar little owl was coming in, making me smile. "Hey, Lotty dear. Back with a response from Harry, I suppose?"

She squawked a reply, dropping a letter in front of me. I furrowed my eyebrows at the red parchment, a black string tied across it. I was about to open it until --

I froze, remembering what it is. I breathed, "A howler!" Now who'd send a howler to me?

I opened it immediately and was met by a sweet voice. "Hmm... Uh, is this you Kataleen?"

I furrowed my eyebrows. "Adele?"

I heard a chuckle followed by that voice. "Hmm, let's see... Yeah, for one I've never used a howler before, and another... You will come to the slumber party tonight, right?"

I was just about finished imagining her baby, pouty face when I heard a girlish giggle, like she was a Veela witch attracting a crowd. "Oh, you sweetheart, you're the best! And really, don't mind Ginny. Because if you don't come, it's not her that's mad, but me. Well, I wouldn't get mad at you but if you don't come, you're making me cry... and if I cry, Ginny will get upset and uptight no matter what the reason..."

"I can see where this is going, okay?!" I yelled, and then slapped my forehead. "Oh drat, I forgot this is a howler."

I heard another giggle. "I'll see you tonight. And bring a friend!"

The message ended there. I sighed. Of course, the circumstances she presented would put a big effect on me I'd never live down on. Ginny might even drag her anger to school! Spiny dragon wings, I wouldn't even be able to focus in school knowing someone's there, plotting some way to get back on me or make me feel guilty...

I should shut up because my imagination is just crazy. I crumpled the envelope and the paper and tossed it into the bin, palming my face on my study.

Later on, after breakfast, I told Arlin that I'll be going to the Leaky Cauldron soon. "After that the couple I promised to walk their dog are coming home from their vacation. Then I can walk their dog."

He nodded, placing his book on his lap and getting off the single couch. "Fine. And then we'll clean your room."

I began spluttering and whinging alternately. "Aw, Arlin! I'm slaving away in the Leaky Cauldron and sacrificing precious time helping my neighbour and then you'll make me work when I get home?!"

"Quit the drama! And you've been postponing it for days!" Arlin exclaimed, ruffling my hair.

"Can't we do it tomorrow?" I whimpered.

He sighed, rolling his eyes. "There never really is a point arguing with you."

I squealed, jumping up and hugging his chest. "Thanks, Arlin!"
