"Good morning!" I said happily in Hermione's ear, making her yelp and jump up. "Hermione, it's first day! I'm so excited I just wanna throw myself off the window!"

"Then do it, will you?" Ginny groaned, covering her face.

I grinned. We had new roommates! The Patil twins, Lavender, and Ginny are all still asleep. Well, Lavender Brown wasn't exactly in her bed. She was an all right girl, I think, and it was quite surprising I haven't met her last year. Parvati and Padma were like I remember them last year—amazing.

"Fine, I'm going to the shower first," I said, going in and taking my uniform. After I washed my face, my hair, and brushed my teeth I went out, and saw the girls queuing up. Surprisingly Lavender was here.

"Gee, you take long," Hermione said, making me give a sweet smile and skip downstairs.

Ron, Harry, Arlin,, Alan, and Matrix were all there. Ron and Harry smiled while Alan and Matrix ran up to me. "You got us worried sick yesterday!"

"Can't help it," I laughed, wrapping them all in a brief bear hug. Then I ran over to Arlin and squeezed his hand. "How're you and Mandela?"

"Uh, yeah, about that," Arlin said, looking at the floor. "I'm really, really sorry if I may not be able to be with you much today. Since, well, I realised I've got a lot to catch up on with my fellow fourth years."

"That, or he wants to flirt with Mandy," Katie Bell, who happened to be drying her hair, said, smirking at me. "Don't be surprised if you don't see him in the common room tonight."

We all laughed as Arlin glared. Harry stood up and explained McGonagall had handed them their timetables earlier this morning since we missed it during the start of the term banquet. "Here's yours."

I nodded, taking it and placing it between my books. "Thanks. So, I see we've got...NO WAY!"

"I know, Lockhart," Ron grimaced. "Win and Alan's lucky they've got Transfiguration with Dean. If Hermione hears that her favourite book-writing smiler—"

"GUYS LET'S GO IT'S DEFENCE AGAINST THE DARK ARTS!" Hermione screamed, running down.

"Whatever, Granger," Alan rolled his eyes as she dragged us along.

"I'll see you then Arlin! Please leave flowers at my grave!" I yelled, making Hermione slap me upside the head. "Hermione wait! I left my parchment at—"

"WHO CARES?" Hermione yelled, running. "Hurry!"

Later on we found ourselves at the Great Hall. We were eating together when I noticed Matrix, Alan, and Ron were looking into space and literally drooling over their chicken. Ugh.

"Ron, close your mouth," Hermione said casually.

"She's pretty, ain't she?" Alan said, pointing somewhere. "Name's Leilani. Got sorted yesterday."

"A transfer from Beauxbatons," Matrix added, "yet speaks perfect English."

I spun around and saw Leilani Pardusoins—if that was the surname I heard over the phone—and grinned, waving. "Leilani! Leilani, hey!"
