Background: Anubis was a former thief and was on the verge of being beheaded until Nefertiti saved his life. When she became aware of his weapon shifting abilities she basically forced him to become her partner to pay off his debt. After the debt was paid, when Nefertiti vanquished her enemies, Anubis had formed a friendship with her and vowed his life to her.
