Being alone may scare you, but staying it a bad relationship with ruin you.

"Come on, Sonny," Josh sat on her window sill. "I promise you'll feel better."

"J," Sonny sighed. "My dads are gonna find out."

"How many times have we done this?" Josh asked with a tilt of his head. "And we haven't got caught."

"We have school tomorrow," Sonny tried to reason. "I don't wanna be late."

"C'mon," Josh grabbed her hand. "What's the point of skipping church on Sunday if you can't do anything bad?"

"Can you run and get some ice?" Sonny handed Josh a five dollar bill. "I have to use the bathroom."

"Be careful," Josh told her. "You don't know what's in these gas station bathrooms."

"I can take care of myself." Sonny snapped back.

"I'm just saying," Josh defending himself. "I don't want you to get hurt."

"That's ironic." Sonny laughed.

"How?"

"You, of all people, don't want me to get hurt." Sonny got out of the car and slammed the door, headed to the grimy bathroom.

"Y'know," Josh started when he finally got in the car again with Sonny after filling the cooler. "My ex used to be nice. What happened to her?"

"She broke up with you."

"Run!" Josh laughed as he tugged at her hand. The police sirens echoed in his ears as their feet hit the ground.

Once they were out of sight, Josh grabbed her by her arms and pushed her up against a brick wall, then began kissing her feverishly.

"Josh," Sonny pushed his hands gently, but he still persisted, his hands up her chest. "J-Josh."

"We did it, babe," Josh said between kisses. "Don't you feel alive?"

"Stop." She pushed at his chest, making him stumble backwards.

"What?"

"I said stop." Sonny repeated. "I don't wanna do this anymore."

"But aren't you having fun?"

"Almost getting arrested is fun?" Sonny scolded him.

"It's okay," Josh shook his head. "Nobody knows it was us and-"

Before Josh could even finish his sentence, a police car pulled into the alleyway and two police men got out, pulling their guns on Josh and Sonny.

"How about we go out for dinner instead of eating leftover tacos?" Josh suggested.

"With what money?"

Josh fished his wallet from his pocket and pulled out a $50 bill. "My treat."

"Your treat should be gas."

"That too." Josh pulled another $50 out.

"What'd you do?" Sonny asked. "Rob another gas station?"

"Nah," Josh shook his head, putting his cash away. "Just my dad's wallet."

"I was right," Sonny said. "You are a bad person."

Josh and Sonny were both pushed up against the brick wall as they got patted down. Sonny had tears streaming down her cheeks as she reached for Josh's hand, but was pulled away by the officer.
