// WOOOOO just about 4 months later, lol//
My mom and I had a long discussion for the rest of the day, deciding what I would wear and my hair, and so on. It mostly consisted of her rambling on a topic for minutes with me adding an "uh-hu" here and there. So, all in all a normal conversation with my mother. I was dozing off before, "WAIT!" I jolted up frantically, wondering what had happened. Instead my mother's face was glowing with happiness and she ran off to her room. I sighed and she ran back in, noting as only a mother would, my lack of excitement. She held a small white box in her hand and a mirror in the other. She opened the box, "I got it from a friend who has 5 grown girls, they had no need for it, ever." I was intrigued and I leaned forward. Sitting inside was mascara, eye shadow, and 3 different nail polishes. And a little pair of tweezers, apparently from the mom. I could tell my mother was satisfied with my surprised reaction by the way she held herself as she continued talking.
"I feel that you can be the one, the next Princess of Dianaria."
// le time skip//
A good couple hours later it was twilight, everyone was out of the house. My mother was "fixing my face" as she so graciously put it.
"Annnnnd.... we. are.... DONE" she proclaimed with triumph.
There wasn't much difference, but it was enough to change me to feel... beautiful. Like I belonged in the Royal Courts, on the throne, with a slim silver tiara resting on my head. Not like I would. for long anyway. My mother lead me outside to a rickety wooden swing and raised the camera. Suddenly I heard giggling and I turned my head. I saw Aspen and his friend Evanna running down the path, small and delicate. My lips curved upwards and I felt a small part of me melt with their sweet child-like innocence. I was vaguely aware of a small *click* behind me, and Aspen returning behind my mother. I was wrapped in my own little world and it was filled with peace, time frozen in a perfect moment that would one day fade from memory. But just for a instant, just for a second, it was mine.
