Semi-Unexpected News

Chapter Three

I sat down on the bench that was placed by the grand doors of the Malfoy Manor, watching the stairway, waiting for Draco to appear.

Getting more bored, I decided I would practice the Patronus charm...

Random, right?

"Expecto Patronum." I murmured.

Nothing.

Absolutely nothing.

Oh, right...

You have to think of a happy thought....

August 2, 1998... My wedding anniversary with Draco Lucius Malfoy.

"Expecto Patronum!" I grinned while pointing my wand towards the roof.

A large snake emerged from my wand and started to slither around in midair.

"Woah." I gasped staring at the snake.

"Expecto Patronum!" the deeper voice of my spouse declared gleefully as a similar snake slithered it's way toward the one that I produced.

"Woah." I repeated.

"I guess we were meant to be." Draco smirked while our Patronuses disappeared while we became unfocused.

"I guess so." I grinned then pressed my lips to his.

"Ready to go?" he asked.

"Yeah, let's go." I replied.

"Goodbye mum." Draco called.

"Goodbye Cissy." I called.

Narcissa waved while Draco apparated us away.

We arrived in front of the grand gates of Hogwarts.

The castle was ginormous, as always.

"Deja vu." I mumbled quietly while Draco chuckled.

"I can't believe after seven years, we actually came back." Draco said amusingly.

"I only spent three years and a few weeks here." I mused.

"Yeah, but you had me most of those three years." Draco grinned cockily.

"Good morning Mr. and Mrs. Malfoy." said a voice coming from behind the gates.

"Good morning Mirvana." Draco replied.

"Welcome back, I'll lead you to your classrooms and to your room so you can make your preparations. If I'm not mistaken, you two are staying at Hogwarts for the remainder of the break?" she asked.

"Correct." I replied.

"Alright, I'll show you to your classrooms first. Follow me." Professor McGonagal ordered while walking towards the castle.

Draco and I followed the headmistress into the large castle.

We followed Mirvana, first, onto the fifth floor of the castle into the new Defense classroom... Considering the last one was destroyed in the Battle of Hogwarts.

"Wow, so this is my classroom." Draco muttered, coming towards me and holding my hand.

The classroom was bigger than the previous Defense classroom.

"Now, I assume you know where the Potions' classroom is, correct Professor Malfoy?" Mirvana asked with a slight grin.

"Yes ma'am." I said before feeling sick again.

"Excuse me." I yelled before running off to the loo.

I ran into the restroom, straight into the girls bathroom.

"Alice? Are you okay?" Draco asked worriedly while busting through the door.

"No." I wheezed before another wave of nausea wash over me.

"Come on, let's take you to Madam Pomfrey." Draco said before he picked me up bridal style, out of the bathroom.

I wanted to yell at him and tell him no, but it felt a lot better in his arms.

Draco carried me all the way to the hospital wing with Professor McGonagall trailing close behind us.

"Poppy, can you please tend to Mrs. Malfoy. She seems to be... sick." Mirvana ordered.

She quickly threw a bucket under my chin, just in time, and felt my forehead and ran her wand over me.

"There doesn't seem to be a specific cause to your nausea. Let me talk to Mr. Malfoy for a second." Madam Pomfrey said before walking into her office with Draco.

They back out about two minutes later and Draco had a sort of giddy appearance.

"Alison, you've been gaveling morning sickness, Mr. Malfoy told me you've been moody, and that your torso has... Swollen." Madam Pomfrey said slowly.

I looked down at my stomach and realized how true she was. My stomach was like a small dome.

Then I remembered earlier today I snapped at Draco then next thing you know he was in my arms.

It all makes sense.

Then Madam Pomfrey said two words, only two, I knew I'd remember for the rest of my life.

"You're pregnant."
