Time had moved forward quickly since the Winter Formal, and with time had come many changes. Firstly, Maybelline became my girlfriend (which still shocks me). I had taken her on a couple dates after the formal then when I got up the nerve to ask her she couldn't have said yes any faster. It'll be our two month marker now in a few days, I'm hoping to do something special for her.
Sadly I don't see much of my friends anymore, I just don't have the same free time as I did before I was with Maybelline. Now in between all our dates and study sessions I can barely have any alone time, let alone time for friends. Oh well, I'm sure once things settle between Maybelline and I our social lives can get back on track.

"Hey handsome." I looked over my shoulder, having just grabbed my lunch, and smiled to see Maybelline walking over to me, looking beautiful as always. "Could say the same to you beautiful." I reached out and grasped a curl in my fingers, shortly followed by a sharp slap to my wrist. "No touching the hair." She said, smiling. I smiled back, hiding my hand in my hoodie pocket to cover up the fact she had left a mark on my wrist. I knew she wouldn't like knowing she had accidentally hurt me.
"So where are we going?" She asked,  leaning against my locker. I responded by holding up a plastic bag which was met with her frowning. I dropped the bag to my side, feeling very confused, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing." She snapped at me, folding her arms across her chest. I scratched at my shoulder nervously, I always hated when I upset her. "I just thought you would want to treat me out since I'm your girlfriend and all but it's fine. I'll just grab some stupid cafeteria food." I bit my lip, reaching into my pocket I checked my wallet, I knew I was a little low on funds until next week when I got paid from my job at the bakery but I saw no harm in picking up McDonald's or something. I put the plastic bag back in my locker, and turned back to see her smiling. She wrapped her arm around my elbow and led me out of the school, chattering away about her classes and I was flooded with emotion. Glad I had been able to fix my mistake and have Maybelline pleased with me again.
"Hey May!" We turned our heads and saw Amy walking in our direction, Maybelline and Amy had made up after the incident at Winter Formal, but now Amy kept butting in on my time with Maybelline which irritated me slightly. I kept quiet about it though, I didn't want to ruin any friendships for her.
"Hey Amy, what's up?"
"The girls and I were heading to the mall for fro-yo and shopping. Wanna join?"
"Sure!" Maybelline answered without a second thought, I felt my heart drop but bit my lip. She was able to hang out with friends, just because I'm her boyfriend doesn't make her my territory. If she wanted to spend time with friends that's her choice, not mine. "Babe?" I looked at her as she glanced up at me, a small pout on her lips. "I don't have any money. Can I have some from you?" I took my wallet out of my pocket, opening the flap that contained all the cash I had left.
"I only got $40 on me, at least until next pay day." I rummaged through the bills, a twenty with some fives. "How much were you looking for?"
"Oh that's plenty." Maybelline said, as she took my wallet from me and the cash inside it. "Besides you got a packed lunch to eat so you won't go hungry." She started pocketing my cash when Amy spoke up,
"That's all his money May..isn't that a bit rude? To take it all on him without even checking?" That kind of surprised me. It was the first time I saw Amy show concern for anyone aside from herself. Maybelline, however, brushed off her remark like dirt from her shoulder.
"He doesn't mind. He loves me so I get what I want. Right babe?" She asked, kissing my cheek which made me blush.
"Y-yeah. It's fine, I can just go meet with the guys this lunch period. Besides pay day is only a couple days from now." The look on Amy's face wasn't as convinced as Maybelline's.
"I told you. He doesn't mind. Now," she linked arms with Amy and started walking out of the school, "where exactly are we shopping?"

My lunch period turned out less than pleasant. It seems some of the guys feel ignored by me, now that I have my girlfriend, so they left the table when I sat down. All except Josh, who sat with me in comfortable silence as we ate our sandwiches. He questioned the red mark in my wrist, I managed to satisfy his question by saying I hit it off a door. Other than that though, those were our only words to each other.

"Hey Mom! We're back!" I called as Maybelline and I entered my house. Silence met me, Mom had picked up some extra shifts at work so she tended to be out later than me. "She probably won't be back until supper." I noted, checking my phone for possible texts.
"No big deal. Just means I get you to myself a little longer." Maybelline grinned, grabbing my shirt collar and pulling me in for a kiss. I smiled into the kiss, pulling back slightly.
"Yes well, don't get any ideas though. It's still a bit early for us to consider anything physical." She glared at me, I bit my lip. 'What'd I say?'
"Is that all you think I'm interested in? Just being a little slut for you? News flash Levi, you're not that great." She then stormed off to my bedroom as I stood in the porch a moment longer, regretting my comment. I hated when she was mad. Gathering my courage I slipped off my sneakers, tucking them away into the corner of their closet, the usual spot, and I slowly made my way to my room. I slowly opened the door and saw Maybelline texting furiously on her phone, a few smirks and smiles flashing on her face. When I got closer she looked over at me and frowned, locking her phone and tucking it into her pocket.
"I'm sorry babe. I got a little carried away with the kiss..I didn't mean to hurt your feelings, I guess I just didn't consider how my comment would hurt you."
"You certainly didn't consider that at all." She snapped at me, moving away. "You just say what you want and think it's okay, that's emotionally abusive Levi. You always hurt my feelings and never do anything for me, it's always me asking to do things and me trying to see you. This relationship is toxic and I don't think I can handle it anymore." I felt myself get down on my knees, not even registering what was happening to me as my mind flooded with panic at the thought of losing her.
"I'll be better. I'll do better. I promise I'll be the man you deserve to be with and more. Just tell me what you need me to do and I'll do it. Just please don't leave me." A small smile parted Maybelline's lips.
"If you insist." She pulled her phone out again, sending a few more texts. "I'm a little hungry, why don't you run downstairs and grab a snack while I make a quick phone call?" I nodded and went to the stairs, hearing Maybelline shut my bedroom door behind me as I began the walk to my kitchen.
