I was dreading the moment I had to wake up and get ready to leave. I was debating on just leaving and not saying goodbye but I could never do that. So here I sat in the kitchen island waiting for my alpha and beta to wake up. As I waited I began to panic. I still didn't know who I was going to first. I ran my fingers threw my long blond hair and pulled. I sighed in frustration.

"Your up early." I jumped and spun around.

"Alpha Josh!" I ran and hugged him tightly, tears stinging at my eyes. He hesitated for only a second and embraced me in a hug. His one hand playing with my hair.

"I-I have to go." I stammered wiping angrily at my tears.

"Ssh I know." he gave me a small smile and wiped a stray tear off my cheek.

"Just remember your always welcome back. This is your home too."

"Thank you." I whispered.

"And you know." he pulled back and looked at me. "You could start a pack of your own. You'd make a great alpha. You have the qualities." A smile broke out across his handsome features.

"Really?"

He nodded and a smile came to my face.

Cam came down the stairs and walked towards me and held out his arms and I flung myself into his arms. I squeezed tightly and breathed in his scent one last time.

"Is this where we say goodbye and we will see you again later on?" he asked kissing my forehead.

"Yea. I promise ill be back."

I gave everyone one last hug and told Josh to tell the rest of the pack that I was leaving and would be back. he reassured me that I was still in the pack no mater what. I stripped my close and shifted. I turned around to see Josh and Cam standing in the doorway smiling at me. I gave them a short nod and ran into the forest towards home.

I ran straight threw no stops so I was in my home town in seven hours. My body reacted on its own and started walking towards home. where my family was; mom, dad and my cat. My fish in my room.

My heart pounded in my chest as I padded softly up the deserted street towards my house. Every car, every tree I passed brought me closer to the home I left. I trotted slowly up my driveway and shifted. I inhale deeply and rang the doorbell, as I waited I combed threw my hair with my fingers, wiggled my toes and just as the door flew open I remembered I had no clothes on.

My head snapped up and I saw my mom. she looked older than I remember, dark circles were found under her eyes, a few more winkles on her face. She looked more thin now like she hasn't been eating.

"S-Shadow? oh my god baby is that you?" tears sprang to her eyes and she engulfed me into a crushing hug. We cried in the door way until someone come to see what was taking so long. Another strong are of arms wrapped around me and I heard my dads voice. Tears steamed down our faces as we hugged in the open doorway.

Mom pulled away and kissed my cheek "Let's get you inside." She pulled away from out hug but held on tightly to my arm as she didn't want to let go if her only daughter. I was led into the living room and placed on the couch, my dad placed the brown blanket that always sits on the back of the couch around my shoulders.

They sat on the couch opposite if me and just watched me, questions clear in their eyes.

"Why'd you leave?" my dads voice had me flinching slightly from the anger.

"I-I had to sort thing out dad."

He rose to his feet with starling speed "what things! you were in the hospital and the next thing I knew you ran away!"

"Honey please. Don't yell" my mom said softly placing her small hand on my dads massive shoulder.

I played with the edge if the blanket choosing my next words carefully.

"I didn't... I had to...." I bit my lip hard not knowing what to say. If I told out right I was a werewolf they wouldn't believe me they would think I'm crazy.

My moms soft voice had me raising my eyes to meet hers "it's ok Shadow. We just want to know why you left without telling anyone.. we were so worried"

"I know mom and I'm sorry for that. I really am. It's just something happened that night in the forest. I can't really explain it. You wouldn't believe me anyways"

"What could have been so bad that you ha to leave you family an not show up for a year!?" My dad yelled.

I wrapped the blanket tightly around me as I felt his rage around me. it close in on me like a thick fog I couldn't get out of.

I stood up and faced my parents "i'll just show you. it's the only way you'll believe me."

I turned on my heel and headed for the back door knowing they would follow me.

Stepping outside brought a chill down my spin because I knew I couldn't back down now an I had to show them who I was now. Why I ran away.

"Stay in the deck. It'll be safer."

At the corner if my eye I saw my parents look at each other with fear. I dropped my blanket as I walked out into the yard, the grass raised and went between my toes, the cool breeze sliding across my naked flesh.

"Honey, please come back inside." I caught a hint if fear in my mothers voice as she spoke to me. I stopped walking when I was standing in the middle of the back yard. I glanced over my shoulder and a saw that my parents still stood on the deck, with one last breath I called to my wolf. The change hit me like a wave and I dropped to my knees with a small scream. I heard my mom gasp and move towards me

"No!.... Mom stay their." I gasped out. My bones snapped one by one a I willed my change to come. My bones shifted into place as a wolf with one last snap everything stopped. I stood on four paws panting.

"My god." I looked up to see fear in my parents eyes and I began to panic.

'Oh god please not again'

I bowed my head an press my ears to my head, a soft whimper leaving my throat. I moved slowly towards where my parents were standing.

"S-Shadow..." my mom took a staggering step towards me "is.. is that still you?"

Slowly I moved my head up an down in a nod. Within a split second my mom was racing down the steps and wrapping her small arms around my massive head. Her head buried deep into my thick fur, her fingers tangling them selfs deeply and holding tight. I rested my head on her shoulder as she began to weep, I saw my dad stagger towards me and land on his knees tears rolling down his cheeks.

They accept me.
