Chapter 9: A New Addition

Caitlin had been sleeping in her room soundly when she heard some footsteps coming in.  She slowly opened her eyes and smiled to see Barry with Beth and Emily.  "Hey.  Are you up for some company?"  Barry asked quietly.  Caitlin smiled, sitting up a little.  "I'm always up for a visit from you three."  "Can we see him?"  Emily asked excitedly but in a quieter voice than usual, as she was warned since it was a hospital she couldn't be too overly excited.

Caitlin smiled.  "He's in the nursery, but they will be bringing him back real soon.  Barry ushered Beth and Emily into the room.  Emily went to gently sit on the ledge of her mother's bed as Beth took a nearby chair. Barry walked over to help Emily up on to the bed so she could sit with Caitlin.  Caitlin wrapped her arms around Emily.  "How are you two?"  She asks glancing from Emily to Beth.  Beth smiled.  "I'm doing fine."  Not long after, the nurse finally brought the baby back into the room.  Emily smiled a little at finally getting to see her brother. 

"Oh.  He is quite a handsome one at that already."  Joe grinned a little as he finally got a hold of his grandson.  Barry laughed.  "Of course he is."  He teased back.  "Alright alright.  Quit the hogging.  It's my turn."  Cisco said walking over to Joe.  Joe raised his eyes slightly.  "But I just got him."  "Well.  I can see that Jordan is already going to be spoiled as much as Beth and Emily are."  Caitlin said coming downstairs.  The three men turned to look at Caitlin.  "But that's not a bad thing.  We spoiled them to death and they're still pretty well grounded.."  Cisco said.  Caitlin laughed.  "I suppose you're right.."  She walked over to the small group.

"I know I'm right Cait.  Plus.  I finally have a guy I can teach things to."  Cisco grinned.  Caitlin narrowed her eyes.  "What kind of things?"  She asks cautiously.  "Oh lighten up Cait!"  Cisco grinned.  "I'm not that bad.  You should be more worried about Barry, Henry and Joe.."  He smirked.  "Hey I resent that!"  Henry called out as Joe gave Cisco a small glare to try and scare him.  Barry shook his head and gave a slight roll of his eyes.  "Alright break it up you four."  He smirked.

The company had finally left, which, though Caitlin was glad to see them, she was still feeling rather tired.  She was glad to finally have a little alone time.  Barry had taken the girls out for some ice cream while Caitlin would have some time to rest.  Hearing Jordan starting to cry, Caitlin got up and made her way into the nursery.  She smiled down at him as she walked over to his crib.

Once Barry had returned, he made his way upstairs to check on Caitlin.  Seeing that she wasn't in their room, he made his way into the nursery and smiled, seeing Caitlin asleep in the rocking chair holding their son.  He slowly walked over and leaned forward to give her a kiss on the forehead.  Caitlin slowly opened her eyes.  "Hey..  How'd it go?"  He smiled.  "Good.  Did you get a good sleep?"  Caitlin nodded.  "Yes I did."  Caitlin slowly stood up and went to gently place Jordan in the crib then turned to Barry.

"And how are you?"  She asks looking up at Barry.  He smiled wrapping his arms around her.  "I am doing pretty great.  I've got you, the girls, and my son."  Caitlin smiled.  "There is still the small matter of Zoom.."  Barry pulled her close.  "Harry and I found a way to close the breeches.  As far as Harry's concerned, Zoom still doesn't know the formula to re open them.  He will be stuck back in his world for quite some time."  Caitlin sighed a little.  "So we actually might get to have a happy life?  Without any interruptions?"  "There will always be something that comes up.  But you and the family will always come first."  He felt Caitlin's hug tighten around him.  She smiled a little.  "I can't wait."  She whispered.  "Now come on.  Beth and Emily are waiting downstairs."  Caitlin smiled and took Barry's hand, letting him lead her downstairs. 

Caitlin knew that things were far from being over, but she knew that as long as she had Barry by her side, they would be able to handle anything...
