On The Bright Side

Just when I thought it was going to be a terrible week things got better.

Monday on my way home a light went out and my bus was super late. So I had to wait a while for my second bus. I had time to get Starbucks then when I got home I ran a really fast mile and did an ab workout after, it felt great.

Then on Tuesday we played a game in math and I almost killed someone (on purpose)

Wednesday was great because I won a social studies game with my friends and preschoolers came in during gym and we played a fun game.

I have been texting Kai and Levi and we've gotten to know each other pretty well and I told them the classroom I eat lunch in. Today they came to visit me during lunch when Madison, Hannah and Brian were in the room. I had trusted them enough to tell them about Brian so as soon as they knocked and I opened the door they looked at him then looked at me and laughed. I rolled my eyes at them.

Kai walked over to me and pulled me over to them and whispered, "You could do better than that nerd. "

"I don't think so nobody likes me like that not even him," I whisper back in a nonchalant tone.

Levi looks at me and says with care in his voice, "We need to work on your self confidence, Missy."

"Thank you Levi," I say into his ear as he pulls me into a hug while Brian looks on with suspicious eyes.

"Why did you guys come by?" I question in my normally loud voice.

"We just wanted to come bye and say hi. We'll be on our way out now," Kai says as he looks at Brian again.

I give him a hug, " See ya."

They walk out the door and it falls closed behind them as Brian looks at me and hisses, "Who were they?"

I smile and reply, "My friends. Why Brian you don't want them in your sacred lunch room?"

Mr.Taylor walks in and asks, "Brian why do you look like someone stepped on your puppy?"

"Ari let some of her other friends into the room," Brian fumes.

Mr.Taylor looks and me and rolls his eyes as he mouths, "You've got him jealous now." He knows about my crush on Brian too. Everyone seems to know but Brian.

I smirk back at him, " Yep," I say popping my 'p'

He shakes his head and looks back at Brian, "I think you might be a little jealous, Brian."

"I am not. It used to be Ari who hated having other people in here and now I'm the bad guy," Brian was glaring at Mr. Taylor as he said this, it was absolutely hilarious.

"I think one visit won't burn the building down," Mr.Taylor says with his signature cocky smile.

"Bite me," Brian snaps.

I smile, "Oh I will," I walk out the room to Mr.Smith's class as he follows dumbfounded behind me. Maybe he does like me afterall. Yay!

Mr.Smith is great we finish our book and start working on the essay for it.

I stay for tutorials today, so does Levi and Kai but for a different teacher of course.

After I finish not doing anything for an hour in Mr. Taylor's classroom I walk towards my bus stop with Kai and Levi. They said they wanted to come to my house to hang out so I asked my dad and he said yes. So now I have people coming over, the first people I have had since Remi. I am kind of nervous.

They have never been on RTD so that is kind of interesting watching them watch all the different people for the first time.

We get to my house and I let them in and ask them to take off their shoes. We go down stairs to hang out, we talk about hot guys, apparently we all have the same taste in guys and Kai and I have the same taste in girls. Both him and I are bisexual, I mean who better to come out to than a couple of gay guys.

We end up talking about what we want to do in the future. I am laying on the floor staring at the ceiling and they are on the couch cuddling when I hear the door unlock and Zoe walks down stairs, right before she enters the room they jump apart.

No one except dad knew they were coming and she must have just got home for soccer. I haven't told anyone about our friendship, so she still thinks I have a crush on him.

"Hey Ari," she says to me trying to cover up her confused look, "Who are your friends?"

"This is Kai and this is Levi," I say as I point to them respectively.

"Does dad know there are boys in the house?"

"Yes of course. I asked him," I say this like it's obvious.

"Okay well I going to stay down here and hang out, it's hot upstairs."

"Zoe, you don't have to babysit my friends and I. We won't do anything wrong and dad said it was fine."

"I don't trust you."

"Okay whatever." I go to sit by them on the couch and we continue talking in whispers.

I hear the door unlock and the jingle of keys, seconds later I hear loud footsteps thumping down the stairs and the wonderful sound of my dad's voice, "Hello kids. How was school?"

"It was really good Daddy. How was work?"I say sweetly.

"It was busy," He replies.

Zoe is staring at him with her mouth agape, "Do you not notice the two boys on our couch?"

"Yes I do see them Zoe. Speaking of, What are your guys's name's?"

Levi speaks for the both of them as always, "Hello Sir I'm Levi and this is Kai," He says pointing to Kai.

"Everything better now Zoe?" He smiles innocently.

"How can you not care that she has boys you just met in the house?" She asked angrily.

"I trust her and I trust you too. Just not in your rooms," he looks at her, " Why don't you go upstairs Zoe and I'll be right up."

"Fine," she humphs as she stands up and walks out.

My Dad speaks up again, "If either one of you hurt her I'm kick both of your asses."

He walks upstairs and I burst out laughing, "Sorry," I say, " I thought that that was funny. And can I pretty please tell them at dinner. It will good for you guys to have a judge free environment, they will literally not care. And you guys need a place you can just be yourselfs."

They look at each other then surprisingly it's Kai who speaks up, "Yes you can I think we both need it."

"Okay," I say as I smile at them, "Do you want to tell them?"

Levi looks at me, "Definitely not."
