Lei couldn't forgive herself. She heard the security haul Allan off to who-knows-where, and she stayed hidden, like a little mouse. She fought the urge to go look for him, she had no clue where he was. So instead she went into the passage, treading lightly in case there were more guards about. After what seemed like forever, she entered a compact office, with vials littered upon the wall and on the floor. The room smelled odd, as if all the smell had been sucked out. There was a desk with a computer and some files, which Lei went to. They were files about the case on her, the one that ruined her life. She scanned through it until she saw a note at the bottom of a page. It read;

They know. They know everything. We must unleash it while we have time. Do we have time? I don't know. But I'll head to the Mayor and ask him about our next move.

Kyle, 2133

Lei stared at the note. At least it's somewhere to start. With that she headed back into the room, and found all the lights off, and the door off to the side. She headed out the hallway and into the lab, where she found the same layout. She made her way to the back entrance, and ran as fast as she could to the warehouse. When she arrived, she almost blew up with joy. Sitting in a chair, typing furiously, was Allan. Although she was shocked to see him, she didn't care. She ran into the office, and hastily announced a huge apology. When she was done, all Allan did was turn around and look at her. For once she didn't see fear in his eyes. But in replacement it was anger.

"Allan, I know you don't want to talk to me, but I've uncovered something." That caught his attention, he put on his inquisitive face, and asked what. With mirth, Lei continued, "I found this note in a secret passageway hidden by the closet," She handed Allan the note, and let him read it. His reaction wasn't as she had expected, he lost his anger as soon as he finished. Without noticing, he ran to Lei and embraced her, sobbing heavily on her shoulder. Lei didn't push him back, only joined him in tears. When they were done crying, they went on the computer to keep digging. They knew that was what they needed to mend their friendship.
