*Dan's POV*
She sat in the corner, watching me sing. She fiddled with her hair, taking in each member of us fully, observing us. After a few other songs, I sang Flaws before turning and grabbing the spare mic, wiring it up and gesturing to Abby to come and sing. She shook her head nervously.
"Aw, come on Abigail, please? I know you can sing, and I know you know Pompeii so you have no excuse. Please?" I asked her. She sang beautifully and all I wanted was one duet with her. Abby stood up and took the mic gently with her soft hands. As the music started up, we sang. As the song drew to a close, I wrapped my hand around hers. She flinched, and I pulled away, but she held on.
"See, it wasn't that bad, was it?" I asked her, and she shook her head, her curls falling across her face as she turned away. She pulled out her phone and checked her phone.
"Oh God, guys, look at the time, it's quater past 9, I really need to go, it was great meeting you!" She turned, and I grabbed her shoulder.
"Stay. For a bit longer. Please? We could play video games, do whatever, just don't leave yet." I could here Kyle chuckling behind me but I didn't care. I could see Abby's eyes flicker around the room before saying:
"Well, I have no plans and tomorrow is Saturday..." Abby said to herself. She bit her lip. She was so cute! I heart beat hard against my chest and I felt butterflies flutter in the pit of my stomach. "Oh, go on then." I began to smile when a huge roll of thunder deafened us, lightning blinded us and then we plunged into darkness.
*Third Person*
Abby's peircing scream rang in everyone's ears. Dan grabbed her into a hug and calmed her. 'Thank God the guys can't see us, I'd never hear the end of this' Dan thought. Abby burrowed her head into the curve of his muscular neck, until the artificial glow of Kyle's phone illuminated her face.
"Kyle!! Stop!" Abby yelped as she squinted her eyes. She let go of Dan and tried the lights. "Powercut. Fantastic."
*A couple of hours later *
"Abby, truth or dare?" Asked Will.
"Truth." Abby was terrible at dares, she always chickened out
"Ok, tell us more about yourself. Easy peasy!" Will answered.
"I'm Abigail Terrence, I'm 25 and I love music." Abby smiled at all of the approving nodding faces looking back at her.
"Dan, your turn. Truth or dare?" Asked Woody. They were all sat in a circle with candles burning and their phones on torch.
"Dare." Dan said confidently.
"Ok. I dare you to kiss Abby." Said Woody. Dan looked at Abby, his heart beating hard and fast. Abby blushed hard. Dan leant over across Kyle and pecked her lightly on the cheek. "No, on the lips! Properly!" Dan blushed and pecked her again, but on her lips.
"Seriously guys, kiss." Kyle grabbed Dan's head and thrust it into Abby's. He felt her soft lips impact his, her warm breath mingling with his own. Both of their hearts beat into sync and Dan deepened the kiss, his tongue exploring her mouth. Abby pulled away when Kyle went:
"AAAWWWW SOOO CUTE! I think we'd better leave now, and leave the two love birds to theirselves. Come on guys." Kyle hugged Abby and Dan goodbye and pulled Woody and Will with him. They left the apartment and Dan and Abby were alone again.
"Actually, I'd better go too, I've been here for so long and I think you'd like to go to sleep." Abby got up too, but a warm hand pulled her down.
"Stay. I have a couple of bottles of wine, and when the power comes back on we could watch TV or do whatever. It's late, maybe you should stay the night?" Dan asked hopefully. Abby thought about it. Was she falling for Dan? She was, and there was no escaping it. All this time she had spent with Dan and the guys was magic, and hse knew full well that other girls would kill to be in her position. Dan knew he loved her from the moment he saw her in the cafe, and was glad he made a move.
"Fine. Just because it's late." Abby sat back down and Dan passed her a bottle of wine before opening one for himself.
"Cheers!" The both clinked their bottes and took a swig.
*11pm*
Abby giggled, she was tipsy. Dan smiled as she said,
"Ok Dan, I'm tired, I'll just sleep on the sofa." She collapsed on the sofa and passed out immediately. Dan went to his room and threw back the covers and retured to Abby. He picked her up carefully, as if she would break any second. He laid her gently on one side of the bed and he snuggled up next to her. She stirred from her sleep and turned around. Dan backed away a bit, but Abby latched onto him and fell deep into sleep again. Dan hugged her close and whispered goodnight into her ear and began to sing softly:
"When you fall asleep,
With your head upon my shoulder,
When you're in my arms,
But you've gone somewhere deeper...."
*The next morning*
Abby woke up to a gentle snore. Dans arms were wrappede around her waist, her body up againts his. She snuggled deeper into the duvet , her ear resting on his chest, his gentle heart beat lulling her into a doze, his sweet breath warming his cheek. This time yesterday, Abby didn't know Dan Smith, yet know she was snuggled up to him in his room. It was all happening so fast. she wrapped her arms gently around his neck and kissed him lightly on the cheek. Making sure he was still asleep, she whispered,
"I think I love you, Daniel Smith." She tried to wriggle away from him to get up and get ready, but his arms pulled her in yet again. He whispered in her ear,
"I think I love you too, Abigail Terrence."
"Oh God..." Abigail held her hand to her temple.
"What?" Dan's worrried expression made her heart go crazy.
"This is all hapening so fast. This time yesterday all you were was a singer I had no clue of apart from Pompeii, but I just shared your bed. What will people think? I love you Dan, I'm sure of it! It's been less than 24 hours and ughhhh," Abby hung her head, and Dan pulled her into a huge bear hug.
"Hey hey hey! It's OK! No one will judge us, their our friends and we can trust them." Dan whispered into her ear. She pulled him backwards into matress and Dan pulled the duvet around them. Abbyh wrapped her long legs around his torso and kissed his neck in the crook of his shoulder. Dan played gently with her curls and stroked her soft skin. He gently whispered to her,
"I'm never going to let you go."
