As I opened the door slowly, George's head shot up from the letter he was just writing.
Without any words, I walked behind him and hugged him from behind.
He looked up to meet eyes with me.
Then, without notice, he pulls me over him, that earned a scream from me, and sat me in his lap.
We stayed like that for a good 5 minutes but it felt like forever for us.
I opened my eyes, now filled with sleep, to a blinding light.
As I looked around, I realized that I was not at home, not with my king, but rather on a ship, to the Americas without my king.
Seeing the blinding light shining into my eyes, I shifted over to turn my back to it.
"Excuse me miss, we will be nearing land in a short time, you should get your bags and wait near the exit" I heard a voice say.
Looking up, I saw a man in a uniform, indicating that he worked on the ship.
I nodded, I stood up and grabbed my things.
I'm almost in America, God this is crazy.
Starting on my way towards the exit, the exit that will be my exit to my old good life but an entrance for a new, lonely life.
Getting lost in thought, I hadn't realized we had stopped and the exit was lowered, until I was being pushed by a crowd and I heard shouting of people who saw their lovers, friends, or family on the shore.
I made it down and stepped onto the dock.
Realizing that I couldn't walk around town with my luggage, I walked towards the map of the town, I need to find the hotel.
Finding it about 3 hours away, I got a carriage.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Feeling the carriage stop, I realized that I was at the hotel.
Grabbing my luggage, I stepped off and walked into the hotel.
I got my room with ease but weird looks from people.
My accent, it's different than theirs of course they are looking at me with weird looks.
After dropping my stuff off into my room, I decided I need to go out into the town.
I made it to the exit of the hotel and walked out.
On my way here, I had saw large numbers of people around the town square but I don't want to go somewhere with people, I don't like the looks I get from them.
Realizing that I had also saw an empty garden right outside of the square but not to far.
Making my way downtown, I didn't realize how surreal it was to me, to see all these people, acting like nothing was wrong having the time of their lives.
I saw the garden not far, just a few more minutes of walking.
Looking around, I saw someone in a rush next to someone looking pretty, I saw couples, friends, families.
I had a family, but I had betrayed them by leaving them, I could've been a wife and a mother.
Snap out of it, you are here for a reason, there is no turning back now.
A group of girls had caught my eye, they looked alike so they must have been sisters. The one in pink looked happy, but disgusted when she saw a guy walking towards them. The one in blue, looking around, smiling at a few people, and the one in yellow looked scared, like she shouldn't be doing what she is doing, not aloud to be where she is.
Making my way towards the garden, I saw a couple, walking down the street, holding each other closely, laughing as the man said something.
Just like George and I had done when we didn't have to worry about anything but ourselves.
I had gotten to the garden and sat down on a bench right by the roses.
"So I'm guessing you like roses, huh?" I turned around and saw King George.
"Yup, they're my favorite" I smile.
"Well, you know, i have a surprise for you at home"
"Really? What is it?" I ask him.
"It won't be a surprise if I told you" George smiled and took my hands, taking me to the carriage to go back home.
As we got there, he took me to the garden and I saw a table, decorated with a red table cloth, two plates, two glasses and right in the middle in a vase was my 3 favorite kinds of flowers.
We had dinner in the garden and had the time of our lives.
I had tears in my eyes, I loved the way he always managed to surprise me and he was so nice.
As a tear got loose and slipped down my face, I noticed that I was not alone in the garden anymore.
A man, with a purple jacket, had sat down close to me.
"I hope you don't mind if I ask this but what is a beautiful woman doing here, crying?" I looked up to see that he had moved, right next to the spot open on the bench next to me.
