Review

I read free will while was sitting back in the car on a journey. I can comfortably say that this short story was definitely a good read.

In the book, we follow EION (sorry about the caps, my computer just insists on auto-correcting the name to 'soon') (pronounced Ian) as he learns to stand up to his mother concerning his sexuality ad that of others. In the process he learns of his power- the ability to strip people of their freewill. His power presents a strong irony to his position before she good kid that did whatever his parents wanted. With his ability he sends his parents away and takes control of the house.

In a devastating situation EION uses his powers on burglars and tells them that if they attempt another burglary they'll ultimately end up killing themselves. What was meant as a threat became reality when the burglars attempted another burglary. EION becomes devastated at the idea of actually killing people but Finn (later becoming his boyfriend) is there to help him through it.

There are other interesting side characters like Penelope and her girl friend.

If I could change anything in the book I'd like the author to explain how EION had provided for himself without the aid of his parents. I have a rough idea- but things are better put into words.
