Chapter One: That Moment Their Fates Intertwined

"Damn those bastards for kicking me out of the fun again," Osomatsu sneered as his black shoes trod across the grassy forest of a random place in the human world. He was expelled out of their world again. Maybe because he was just too awesome for them to hang out with him; yes, that was definitely what the case was: they were just too low-leveled for the likes of him.

He would occasionally kick pebbles here and there, then glancing at everything that this world has to offer. It was awfully wonderful compared to his place down there but it was damn boring. He cannot do anything against any human – even a simple prank, for there was an existing law that they aren't allowed to do any harm against the mortals during a time of peace. Tch. Why were they demons in the first place?! Damn the rules. Human world is so lame; thus, he didn't like it here. It was his fellow devils' fault that he's stuck here until the end of summer.

"Hahaha! You shouldn't do that! No– stop! Hahahaha! It tickles! Hey!" A cheerful voice resonated around the forest. It was a child's – no doubt. Did that young man got lost in the forest? Hmm. It seems that it wasn't the case. Nah, it didn't pique Osomatsu's interest -- definitely not; that's why his feet led him to where the voice was coming from.

Damn curiosity.

The voice went on laughing and the devil would sometimes hear a splash of water. That was a good lead – his direction now leading to the nearby riverbank.

Sweet. He was half correct.

It was a child, indeed. But it was not a human.

"Oho~? A goddess?" Osomatsu felt himself smirk. Now we're talking.

It was not indicated in the rule that he can't play a prank on a heavenly being but it had its limitations. He can't gravely harm any other creature, especially if it was another race. It is hard to wage a war once again, even though his kind loves chaos and conflict. He didn't wish to be exiled from hell forever.

But a little mischief can't be that bad, right?

Apparently, the mini-goddess was playing with the animals in this forest– that explains the laughter and splash of water. Good for him. He looks like he was having fun, not for long, though.

From his place behind the nearest tree, Osomatsu focused his aura towards the surroundings that made all the animals leave the goddess– maybe sensing the danger of a lurking creature.

"Eh? Wait! Where are you going?" The young goddess asked the animals. He didn't receive an answer and he was disappointed. Maybe it was time for them to go home to their families? Ah. That might be right.

Still a bit crestfallen, the child walked towards the river. Maybe he'll go home now as well. But at the very moment that he took his first step, he felt a grip on his left foot and fell, face first, on the grassy ground.

"Hahahahahaha!" Osomatsu laughed boisterously from his spot, clutching his stomach in the process. That was so damn funny! The goddess's race was known for their benevolence and grace – and seeing one of them fall, face first, on the ground was an amazing feat on his own.
