Luke woke up feeling his head pounding in a way he'd never felt before, and his body stiff and itchy. Very itchy.
He discovered all his brothers were awake and sitting near Victor's bed, discussing something. When he went to join them, he noticed Sang was asleep and carefully tucked underneath the covers. She was pale, her hair in disarray, and she looked positively ragged.
"Is she okay?" He asked his brothers, and he noticed they were all still sporting the same red spots he was. It was Kota who answered. "She will be. She's exhausted and hasn't had enough to eat. She's been taking care of us all by herself. I can't even remember most of it."
"Yeah I can't either actually. In fact, I don't remember anything from the time I fell asleep after Doc came from the pharmacy. Does anybody know what happened?" Luke asked.
Gabriel snorted and opened his mouth, just about to speak when Mr. Blackbourne interjected. "I do not. I'm certain no one else remembers anything either. Isn't that right, Mr. Coleman." "Uh huh..." Gabriel replied. He'd gone a little pale. There were a few murmurs of agreement and snickers around the group. He would find out later.
"Well, all I know is, we are definitely keeping her!" Gabriel announced. Luke was surprised when everyone voiced their agreement, including Mr. Blackbourne.
Yes. He would definitely find out later. But first, he would get better and treat the beautiful sleeping girl to an amazing date.

I hope you all enjoyed reading the story as much as I enjoyed writing it. Thank you all so much for all the votes and reads. I honestly wasn't expecting such a response but it was a very pleasant surprise.
I've published another Ghostbird short and it's a one shot. It isn't humorous and it doesn't feature sang and the boys but give it a read if you'd like.
Once again, thank you all so much for the support. 😳
