Running as fast as she can, Penelope gasped for air. She kept running till she was standing in front of the backdoor of the cafe. She took deep breaths and entered. Her hands trying their best to get her wind driven hair to look presentable as best as she could without a mirror.
She quickly put on her apron, and exited the staff room.
Upon seeing Penelope, Nina got up and ran out the cafe after saying a quick bye.
She closed her eyes to try and stop her racing heart and continued taking deep breaths.
Once she opened her eyes, Penny almost fell over in shock when she saw who was occupying the same table in the far corner of the cafe.
It was him.
He was here.
After an entire month.
And he was alone.
She looked at the seat across him, wondering what happened to the happy girl.
But her thoughts were cut short when she heard a crash.
Penny looked at the now broken saucer on the floor. It's white pieces thrown all over due to its fall.
The pieces were all broken, and she looked up to see his face.
And she saw with sadness, that he looked just as broken.
