He looked at the broken saucer that resembled his now broken heart.Closing his eyes momentarily, he then looked around the cafe, wondering what to do, when he caught the eyes of a girl standing behind the counter.
She looked back at him, and then looked down onto the floor. He couldn't help but stare. He had never seen her in the cafe before. Of course, that was because all he would do was ogle at Olivia whenever he had come to the cafe with her.
Her long black hair was tied into a high pony, exposing her high cheekbones. She looked back at him one last time before disappearing into the staff room.
A few minutes later she appeared in front him, carrying a broom and a dustpan.
He watched as she swept the broken pieces away. Once she was done, she took a piece of cloth from her pocket, and started wiping away the left over vanilla latte he had spilled on the table before he dropped the saucer onto the floor.
She didn't glare at him for making her do all that. She just quietly completed the task.
She started walking back towards the store room, but stopped short when he opened his mouth.
"Sorry."
It was a quiet mumble, that if their surroundings weren't quiet she wouldn't have heard him.
She looked back at him. A small smile forming on her beautiful face.
"It's no problem."
He wanted to smile back, but he didn't. Instead his gaze fell on the now clean floor.
He heard her footsteps walk away. The picture of her smiling face still fresh on his mind.
He wasn't sure whether he liked it or not.
The fact that she had left his heart skipping.
