His eyes could barely stay open. He took a seat and placed his head on the table. His eyes kept closing and it took everything in him to not fall asleep right then and there. So why did he come to the cafe then? He doesn't know. He just felt like it.
But deep down he knew it was so he could see the girl again.
Just as his eyes were slowly closing, he felt something being kept on the table.
He sat up straight, and stared at her. His mind went blank as he continued to stare.
Penny stared back and noticed the bags under his eyes.
"You look tired." She couldn't help but state the obvious.
He barely nodded. Grunting in reply, he looked over at the cup. Not stupid enough to make the same mistake, he looked back at her.
She stared back at him before she started talking.
"The name's Penelope, but you can call me Penny. If you need anything, just holler." She said with a shy smile.
He smiled. A very tired smile.
"Hi Penny," He felt happy now that he knew her name. "I'm Cade."
And as they shared a smile, she was finally able to place a name for the boy she was head over heels in love with.
