Penny was looking through the account book when the door to the cafe opened. With a smile she looked up and saw the person she had been expecting.Smiling back at her, he took a seat.
Once Penny was finished with his latte, she quickly headed over to serve it to him. But not before receiving a knowing smile and a wink from Nina.
Before she could leave his table, a hand latched onto her wrist. She gave out a little shocked gasp and turned to look at Cade, who was nervously looking around the cafe.
"I was wondering if you'd like to spend some time with me?"
When Cade noticed the way Penny was looking at his fingers around her wrist, he immediately let go.
She stared at him, then slowly nodded. Barely audible, she said an okay and sat down opposite to him.
They locked eyes, and Penny immediately remembered the whole scene from the day before.
Out of the blue, she started laughing. Her eyes closed and her hand placed on her stomach.
She opened her eyes to see Cade watching her with confusion and a little bit of amusement.
"What?"
She laughed again in response.
His eyebrows were furrowed, but there was a small smile on his lips.
"Sorry," She gasped for air and tried to control the laughter trying to escape her mouth. "I just remembered what happened the day before."
At her words, he had immediately turned into a wide eyed tomato. She was still desperately trying to hold in her laugh and when she saw the expression on his face she couldn't help it.
"You look adorable when you blush."
A second after she said that, Penny's eyes turned wide and now it was her turn to blush.
He let out a light chuckle at her embarrassment.
"So do you."
