The mirror dazzled with flickering images;
she tried to decipher the truth
but, she only found an envelope of bitter lies
that told her to cut down on the sugary love she showered on her body
and to sprinkle melancholic blues on her eyes to make them brighter.
She muscled her feet with the pillars of high heels and
coated her lips with crimson she didn't think she needed but,
she wanted to be beautiful.
She created a caked-up masterpiece on her face to look like the popular girls and
and forgot to love herself.
She failed to realize that mirrors hold lies too and
faded like the hue of her jeans.
