"The Trade"

My head pounded like crazy, and my ankle throbbed with pain. A warm, crackling fire blazed in front of me, reminding me of home, but the crudely painted cave walls told me otherwise. Dr. Fox towered over the fire, casting a large shadow on the walls. His mouth looked as if it was bent in a permanent scowl, and his face was covered in unnatural scars. He wore an eyepatch over one eye, his left one. He was about my age, and every fiber of his being was filled with vile hatred of me.

"What do you want this time?" I snapped.

"Only the prize of your mission, the crystal." He drawled. I tried to move my hands, but unfortunately, they were tied up, and so were my ankles. This is not going to end well. I thought, struggling.

"Are you going to set me free?" I asked.

"Maybe." He said, as the chief walked into the cave.

"So you agreed upon the trade, the girl for the crystal?" He asked the chief.

"Yes." I could barely make out what he said, for his voice was heavy with a strange accent. Dr. Fox sauntered over to me, and untied me from the post I was bound to. I was jerked up roughly, and my instincts told me to try to escape, however, my body disagreed. I was extremely dizzy, and couldn't focus on anything. Not to mention I was dehydrated, and pain, which had lain dormant while I was sitting, now exploded across my body, stunning me out of my daze. As I was dragged through the forest, stumbling over the tree roots, a sudden gust of wind came, and grabbed my hat, and brought it with it, yet I was powerless to do anything to save it. My throat was too parched to yell, so I sighed, not knowing how long I would be here. I was dragged through endless amounts of forest, yet I recognized the scenery, seeing as I had only run through the here about a day ago. There were giant waterfalls, each emptying into a large river, which we followed into the camp. I also stole a glance at the plane I had flew here. It was in perfect condition, the exact way it was when I had landed it. Now I had a way to escape. I wondered where they were taking me, and what they were going to do to me. Turn me into a slave, try to bury me alive, or put me in a pit with poisonous snakes to watch me die for their own enjoyment, like they had done on echearchj. Unfortunately, they lived to regret that one. I was lead into the village, it was dusk now, the sun was about hallway below the horizon. Their box like houses were like walls on either side, and each little campfire outside of the house like its own little island. My head spin around in wonder, looking at the heads of the little children peaking out the windows of the houses in curiosity. I was half forced, and half thrown to my knees in the dirt. When I finally brought up the nerve to look up, I found myself facing a giant rock, but this one was alive!
