"Haha! So they never realised it was you?"
"Nope!"
I'm sitting in a booth in the world buffet restaurant next to my best friend, Millie. We met her family here for a meal.
"I think I've eaten too much," my mum says "I feel sick."
"But you haven't had pudding yet Lisa!"
" Of course I have room for pudding! That's the best part! I'm going to get it now actually."
She leaves the table and goes to the pudding aisle in the buffet room. I get up and follow her.
When I get there I start loading my plate with so much food that I know I won't be able to eat all of. I got 5 different mini cupcakes, loads of marshmallows and strawberries covered in chocolate from the chocolate fountain, a slice of strawberry cheesecake, a slice of chocolate cake, apple crumble, strawberry, lime and lemon jelly, a chocolate brownie, profiteroles and 10 different flavours of ice cream.
I get back to the table and sit down,
" Wow Katie, that's a lot!"
"Umm dad look at yours, compared to that mines tiny!"
He has at least double the amount that I have, so much that he needed two plates.
"Well, yes but I'm much bigger than you so I need more! But still, I'm not sure how I'm going to eat all of this."
An hour later, we are still sitting at the table, just talking about anything that comes into our heads. At the moment the adults are discussing whether my mum should let me have my phone back. I really hope that Millie's mum convinces my mum to let me have it back. I'm missing it a lot.
Our waitress comes to collect our plates and give us the bill. We pay it, and then start to get up.
"Thanks so much for paying for us!" Millie's dad says to my parents, " Bye Katie!"
"Bye Dave! Bye Millie!"
When we get home, my mum says to me,
"I think I was a bit too mean on Monday at the library. I've decided that you can have all of your things back."
"Yaaaay!! Thank you so much!"
"It's fine. I probably shouldn't have forced you to come to the library with me. Your laptop and phone are in my wardrobe."
I run upstairs to mum and dads room and grab my phone and my laptop. I put them on my desk and turn on the tv. I then lie down in bed and eventually fall asleep.
When I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do, is play on my phone and watch tv at the same time until after a while, I somehow manage to get bored of it.
"Muuuum!" I shout,
"What do you want Katie?? I'm extremely busy trying to sort out payments for the servants, and I don't really want to be disturbed!"
I walk downstairs and sit down next to her in her study.
"I'm bored, I don't know what to do."
"You could......watch telly?"
" I've already been doing that for the last 3 hours."
"Oh. Umm. You could read a book?"
"Boring."
"Go for a walk?"
I really don't want to do that. I'm still nervous that those men are going to find me if I go to the woods, but I don't want to tell my mum about that so I just say,
"That's even worse than reading!"
"Well I don't know then!!"
"I'll do my homework."
"Yes! That's a great idea. Why didn't I think of that?"
I go upstairs and try to start my maths homework, but after a while I give up. Half of the things on the sheet we haven't even been taught. I'll just have to copy from someone on the way back to school.
I can't think of anything else to do so i just turn on the tv.
3 hours later
I'm woken up by cook bashing the dinner gong to tell us all that dinners ready,
"DINNERS READY EVERYONE!"
I open my eyes and get up slowly. I yawn. Why did she have to wake me up as soon as I managed to get to sleep. I feel really tired. It's probably because by the time we got home last night it was 1 in the morning.
I go downstairs and sit at one of the many seats in the dining room. My mum and dad are already sitting at the table.
"Hey, when did dad get home?"
"He's been home ages, darling."
Maybe I'd been asleep for longer than I thought I had. Dads phone rings.
"It's Tim from work. I'd better pick it up. Is that ok, Lisa?"
"Yeah yeah, it's fine! I wouldn't want to get you fired!"
After a long time, dad comes back into the room.
"What was it about, Hue?"
"He said that the office block was nearly blown up today!"
"Really?! Lucky you had the day off!"
"You had the day off?" I thought that dad had been at work all day.
"Well, no he was actually on a business trip, but tell us what happened!"
" Tim said that he was just doing his work, when Annie's computer wouldn't turn on. So they got the technician there, but he said the computer was fine and he couldn't work out what was wrong with it. So they got and electrician in to look at the wires, and they found a bomb that was somehow interfering with Annie's computer. So if Annie hadn't been in that day, the office would be gone by now!"
"Well it's lucky that she swapped with you for the business trip, because if she had gone, you and everyone at the office would be dead!"
"That's a disturbing thought. Why are these people putting bombs everywhere anyway? Who are they trying to kill?"
"We don't know Katie! No one does, well, except for them but hopefully they'll be caught soon because we don't want anymore places-or people- blown up!"
