When I wake up in the morning, I'm still thinking about what that man could've been guarding in the woods last night. I remember seeing that he had a bag with the words "Clyde Jacobs" on it. That must be his name. I give up after a while because I couldn't see anything near him, so it might just be me making myself believe that he was guarding something.
"Katie!" My mum is calling me from downstairs, "It's a cooked breakfast today and if you don't get up soon yours will go cold!"
"I'm coming, I'm coming!"
When I get to the bottom of the stairs, I can already smell the bacon being cooked.
I go into the dining room and sit down at the table. My mums not here yet, she's probably helping cook in the kitchen.
"Oh! Did I forget to tell you?"
"Forget to tell me what?"
"I must have. Yesterday, Suzy from Hues office text us that she had an old table and chairs that she didn't want. We went to have a look, and they were amazing quality, they looked brand new! So we took them and put them in the kitchen. We're going to start eating in there from now on. We decided that this room is better for dinner parties."
Yess! I've always thought that this room is too big, but I haven't said to mum, because she is so proud that she has a big house, i never wanted to upset her.
I follow mum into the kitchen and sit down at the table next to dad. As soon as I sit down, the cook walks over and puts a plate of food in front of me. It looks amazing, there's sausages, potato cakes, bacon, beans, fried bread and fried egg. My dads has black pudding as well, but I don't because I've always hated the idea of eating blood.
I eat the whole plate, then have seconds.
"Wow Katie!! I couldn't fit any more in even if I wanted to!" She's barely eaten anything, but she still looks like she's about to be sick.
When we've all finished eating, we go into the living room to watch some tv. My dad decides to put the news on, because he likes to know what's going on so that he can talk to his co-workers about it. He says that things like rugby and football are the only things his office like to talk about, so he has to know about things like that if he wants to be able to join in with their conversations.
I switch off for a bit and just stare at the wall until the newsreader says something that makes me jump up and hurry out of the room.
" Where are you in such a hurry to, darling?"
"I...um...just remembered I needed to ummm do my homework!!"
I rush up to my room and sit on the bed. I think for a long time, but eventually I realise that I must be right, there's no way that I can't be. I go over to my desk and pick up the phone. I go to the dialling pad and press the numbers 999.
"Hello, which service do you require?"
"The police."
" Okay, I'll put you through."
After a minute of silence, a voice says,
"Hello?"
"Hi, I have some information that I think you would like to know, but I want to stay anonymous."
" Okay what would you like to say?"
"I think I know who the bombers are."
