“Stevie,” Mackenzie said worriedly “They checked Xavier’s phone records… And you called him last night, when he went missing.” “What?” Stevie said defensively “I called him to see if he wanted to come over tomorrow, he said he would. That’s the last time I talked to him.” Mackenzie believed Stevie, well how was she to know that was her biggest mistake? She believed her sister would never do anything wrong, like she could ever imagine her sister could have ever done anything like that? Did Stevie kill Xavier? She may have, but don’t be so sure. You never know.
Mackenzie didn’t know what to believe but she believed that everything is possible. And may Stevie have killed him since she was last to talk to him. Yeah maybe Stevie didn’t, maybe she did. What Mackenzie thought? Sorry I can’t tell you! “Stevie,” Mackenzie’s voice broke along with her heart “Did you hurt Xavier?” “Yes,” Stevie said “He was going to give you news that was very bad and would ruin you ever talking to me again.” “What was he going to tell me?!” Mackenzie yelled. “I can’t tell you!” Stevie stormed out of the room. Mackenzie got under her covers and burst out crying. “Mom and dad think she’s so innocent,” She cried “But she killed the love of my life and she won’t tell me why. How could she?” She laid there all day all night. Crying. Crying like never before. She didn’t think she’d ever be happy, ever again.
Mackenzie had been there for a few days. She thought she should get up and get something to eat, shower, maybe go see the sun at least. She may not think she could ever be happy again, thanks to her twin, she was at least going to try. But once she tried to get up she collapsed crying again, maybe it was too soon to try. She’d try some other time. Maybe. Or maybe she’d just lay here until she died of starvation or even thirst. She hit an all time low because of Stevie. This was all her fault she thought! All her fault. She would never speak to Stevie again. Ever. She’d kill herself before she’d think of talking to Stevie.
She was so scared, she didn’t understand anything anymore. The only person she truly cared for was now dead. She was going to die, so she could be with him. She didn’t know what the news was, it would change her decision if she knew what that news was. She couldn’t respond to anything. She heard over and over and over again Stevie apologizing. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to respond, she couldn’t respond. She had so much shock that she couldn’t respond.
She just could only cry. And that’s all she did. She cried until her body had no more tears from dehydration. She still didn’t get up, she got really weak. She couldn’t move anymore. Stevie and Mackenzie’s room smelled like death. Stevie decided to start sleeping in the living room. She couldn’t handle listening to Mackenzie cry anymore. No tears but she still made the sounds. She was wasting away and her sister probably didn’t even care, she knew her parents didn’t. Now Xavier was gone, the only person who understood her. What she didn’t know was he really understood Stevie too.
