I arrived home getting off of the train and heading towards the victors village where I knew my brother had to be. I opened the door without knocking. "Sam?" I asked. "Sammy?" I asked again knocking on his bedroom door. "What are you doing here after 8 years?" He asked. "Look how big you've gotten." I said going to hug him, but he stepped away from my touch. "Don't touch me. I hate you. I told you if you left . I would never want to see you again." He said. "I'm sorry, but..." I started, but he interrupted me. "No, I don't want to here it just leave me alone. Go back you you place. I'm going to stay here with Clarke. At least I know she won't leave me. I bet you didn't even know she is stuck in bed 24/7 sick of old age. She can't even eat on her own. While you were out in the capital enjoying unlimited food and drinks." He making me start crying and I ran out the door back to my victors place. Which has been empty since I left. Seeing as I had Sam stay with Clarke since she was another victor. Anyways I headed back to where I was supposed to be staying and cried myself to sleep. Feeling lonely and lost... I woke up to go watch t.v. Today snow was supposed to announced the 75th hunger games. "Ladies and gentlemen, this is the 75th year of the hunger games. It was written in the charter of the games that every 25 years. There would be a Quarter Quell. To keep fresh for each new generation. The memory of those who dies in the uprising against the Capital. Each Quarter Quell is distinguished by Games of special significance. And now on this the 75th anniversary of our defeat of the rebellion, We celebrate the 3rd Quarter Quell. As a reminder that even the strongest cannot overcome the power of The Capital. On this, the 3rd Quarter Quell Games, The Male and Female Tributes are to be reaped from the existing pool of Victors in each district. Victors shall be present themselves on Reaping Day. Regardless of age, state of health, or situation." He said. "NO!" I screamed at the Tv. Throwing the remote at it. I threw papers off of the tables. I cried and decided I have to go tell Clarke what they are doing. I doubt that my brother or Clarke saw what he said. Especially since Clarke can't get out of bed. She is probably 72 now. I love her to bits and pieces for her taking care of my brother. Now I will return the favor of helping her. I ran back over to where she and my brother were staying. I opened the door without knocking. "I told you I didn't..." My brother started, but saw my tears and asked "whats wrong?" I waved him off looking for Clarke's room. When I got to it. I saw that she was laying in bed and looked up at me smiling. I smiled back at her and it was the first time I had smiled since mom and dad got murdered. "I'm sorry to barge in, but I have terrible news." I said going and sitting next to her and holding her hand. I let more tears fall out as I said "Snow said as this years Quarter Quell, The Male and Female Tributes are to be reaped from the existing pool of Victors in each district. No matter what state or health. I have decided that if I get called. Its alright, but if they call your name. I'm going to volunteer in your place, because you're the only one my brother has left. He already told me he hated me. So I guess that I'm telling you goodbye and thank you for taking care of him." I said kissing her forehead and crying some more. She smiled down at me sadly. I fell asleep crying in her arms... When I woke up I was being watched by the peace keepers. "You know a picture would last longer." I joked hating them. "Were supposed to take you back to your place for your make-up to be redone. Your bruises are showing and we can't have an uprising." One said. I rolled my eyes standing and they grabbed my arms leading me out of the room. I avoided eye contact with my brother as he asked "what's going on?" We walked back to where I was staying and they had to cover a lot of me with make-up that matched my tan skin. Once they finished doing that. Me and the peace keepers stepped outside. Me, Clarke (whose in a wheel chair), and Eden. All got in a line with the peace keepers surrounding us. We walked through the crowds with all eyes on us. I got one last look at my brother as we made it on the stage. "Welcome, welcome. As we celebrate the 75th anniversary and 3rd Quarter Quell of the Hunger Games. As always, ladies first." Morrelle said looking at us. She walked over to the jar with only two names in it. Shuffling them around a bit. Before walking to the microphone. "The female Tribute from District 10, Clar..." She started, but couldn't finish as I said "I volunteer as tribute." She looked at me sadly as I walked over to her. "Wonderful! We have a volunteer, Lily Stones." She said, but I could tell she was about to cry. I kept my head held high. Not showing any emotion. "And now for the men." She said walking over to the other glass jar filled with only one name. She grabbed it walking back to the microphone. "The male Tribute from district 10, Eden Kells." She said as he walked over to us. He kept all emotion off his face too, but he looked down at his mother. He was 17, two years older than my brother. He won the 73 Hunger Games. I watched as everyone did the three finger salute. To show respect, admiration, and to say goodbye. Me and Eden did it back. When the peace keepers came and grabbed my arms. Dragging me away. "Oh, no, but, but, but.." Morrelle started to say as they dragged us off. "Lily!" Sam yelled to me and Eden's mother yelled for him as he wanted to say goodbye. "New plan. Straight to the train." I heard Edens guard say. I didn't argue though. I had enough bruises. I didn't need more to have people asking. We got on the train and I went straight to my room and laid down. Not wanting to talk to anyone. We didn't have a mentor anyways. So it didn't matter... I woke up to knocking on my door and was so happy, because I had a nightmare. I got up and answered it to see Eden. "We need to go talk to Morrelle." He said and I nodded following him. We sat down at a table filled with lots of food. "Okay, So Everything will be different, because its a Quarter Quell. The Capital will spare no expense. A new training center. New Tribute living quarters, and of course a very special arena. But this year you'll be facing other victors. Capital favorites. Smart, Cunning, Skilled, and they all know one another. You guys will be assigned a mentor when we get there. So eat up and get rest." Morrelle said... We were now sitting in the living room of our new living quarters. With our assigned mentor from District 2. "I want you guys to forget everything you think you know about The Games. Your first time was child's play. This year you will be dealing with experienced killers. Which means your gonna have to have allies..." He said. "No." I said. "Look your gonna have to have allies. It could be what keeps you alive in the arena." He said. "I'm cool with it." Eden said. "I still don't trust any of them." I said. "You don't even know any of them." He said. "I know like you said. They are all experienced killers." I said getting up. "That tells me enough. They can't be trusted." I said walking away. "Is she always this way?" He asked. "Wouldn't know. She hasn't ever been around us other Victors." Eden said.
