If you ever thought being in a band was the easiest thing in the world than you need to think again because it’s honestly not, there are so many hardships you have to deal with. First things first, when you first start off as a band you all have to try and get in tune with one another and learn to be able to play at the same time in a good way so fans and yourselves will be able to enjoy it. Then you have to learn to be able to tolerate each other because you will be stuck with each other for long amount of times in small areas; such as a traveling van, maybe a bus if you are lucky enough to have the money to even get one.  Also, you have to work hard as fuck to get noticed by anyone; record labels look for the best the ones that get the most fans, so get an EP going and go stand outside of Walmart and give them away for free or for like three dollars. That is the old fashion way but it seems to work a lot better than other things, I enjoyed that way anyways it was always my favorite. Finally there is the most difficult part of being in a band and that is keeping stable relationships with friends, family and even your boyfriend or girlfriend; but in my case I’m not only in a band but my boyfriend is too, Alex Gaskarth, the sweetest guy you will ever meet and his band is one of the most popular bands out there. His band; All Time Low, have been together for a little over 10 years while my band not even 2 years maybe even 1 but we don’t complain. How I meet Alex was kind of funny, we asked a venue if we could play the night before one of their shows and since we told them we would play for free as long as they would help get the word out they agreed to it. Lucky us right? Well anyways All Time Low was touring with Pierce The Veil, A Day To Remember, and The Wonder Years at the time so they kind of got to the venue a day earlier to set up. My band and I didn’t know that they were going to be there a day early; all we knew was that we were going to play a badass show the day before they played theirs. So it was the night before their show and we showed up at the venue in our crappy little white pedophile van and saw all the bands OUTSIDE their busses. Awesome right? Yeah, no these are top dogs in the music industry and we are only little puppies so us compared to them is just totally out of the question they are 100% better than us. So we rolled up to the back of the venue, and before we got out we all looked at each other with just the terrifying feeling of anxiety. We were scared, nervous and just sick to our stomachs because we didn’t know if they were going to watch us play or if they were going to make fun of us and tell us to get lost.

“Guys, we have been waiting for this show for a long as time now. We can’t just give up, so let’s start unloading the van and get set-up!” I remember telling them, they all of course looked at me like I was insane but because they were more scared of me than them they all got out of the van. Now JJ is our lead singer and my best friend, he was more nervous than anything because some of his heroes were here tonight. The first thing he wanted to do was puke so I ran him inside the venue as fast as we could avoiding all the band members and their crew. I stood outside the women’s bathroom while JJ was puking out his brains.

“Are you waiting for someone?” Alex asked me as he began to walk up; I looked at him with nothing but shock on my face. I mean its Alex Gaskarth talking to kid like me, well not really a kid when I was around his age.

“Um, yeah my friend got a little sick” I told him, trying to play it off that I really didn’t give a fuck who he was. You know that stuck up kind of childish girl type thing, it’s a stupid description of what I mean but it’s the best I can do this story takes back so long ago.

“If she going to be okay?” he asked me, he looked like he cares but I was a stubborn bitch so I didn’t believe him one bit; I was in that little phase were those big popular bands were nothing but assholes.

“He, and yeah he’ll be just fine” I growled at him sounding harsher than I intended too but I was young and stupid.

“Are you guys the amateur band playing tonight?” By this point in the conversation I was boiling mad, amateur? Really amateur? Come on now!
