"Lapis. Come out. You have th-three seconds." I wanna cry. He's gonna hurt me again and I don't wanna deal with it anymore. I take a deep breath and try to make a run for it. I crack open the door, as quiet as I can, and throw an unused toothbrush across the living room. "Huh?" He turns around fast and sprints to the living room. I slide into my room and struggle to open the window. "Lapis, baby. Who's gonna buy you nice clothes, or makeup? Or or or-" The way he talks is making me disgusted. Why did I ever fall for him? The window finally opens and I jump out, into our apartments public pool. I land right into the pool, fortunately, and slip out of it and make a run for it. I put out my thumb and try to get a ride once I run a few blocks away from the apartment. Luckily, a small white car stops and I jump in. "H-hey. Uh, I-I-" I start to bawl. The girl riding the car tries to comfort me. "Ssh, ssh. It's okay." She pauses. "Where to?" I start to wipe my tears. "Far. Far away from here." It made me feel better that she didn't care that I was all wet.
