The girl driving let me lay on her shoulder. She was so nice to pick me up, I thought. She tried to ask what happened, and why I was soaking wet, but I refused to say. I just couldn't say a word without bawling like a crybaby again. "We're here!" She said in a fake excited tone. She got out of the car and opened my car door. She helped me out, and we walked up the steps of her house. Her own house. I thought it was so cool. Imagine, a house of your own with no one else to boss you around.
"So, uh, how long do you think you'll st-" She cut off. I think she thought I was sensitive about that topic at the moment, which I was. I couldn't bear not knowing her name any longer.
"Hey, uh. I'm not sure. I won't stay long if you've got plans, or just want me out of your house." I giggled, trying to joke around to lighten the mood. She just giggles, covering her mouth.
"What's your name?" I asked.
"Mm, Peridot. Yeah, yeah I know it's also a gem but my mother thought it was.. necessary." She smiled, making a cute face.
"And you?" She asked with a concerned voice. Oh, she's probably so confused.
"Lapis." I smiled.
Her emotion neutralized.
"That's such a beautiful n-name." She then giggled, and did a little happy dance. Her smile was so real too. I was jealous.
"Haha, thanks." I twirled my hair and I think I actually blushed.
