This school sucks." said Mellisa.
"I know, but it's the only school system in the country."
" You know that we could ride our bikes to Germany and go to school there?"
"Are you crazy? First off, our parents would see us going the opposite direction to school and we don't have a passport!"
"Sorry, wasn't thinking. I'm in my summer break mode"
It was now summer for Greene County Middle School. Summer is boring where they live. There's no where to swim except for a lake that is filled with sewage and chemicals the government put in, so school was the only thing Brooke and Mellisa had to do. People in this country didn't even have a television or any electronics, just a radio the government installed into all the houses. This was what Mellisa calls "Fib News." Why does she call it this? Well it's simple. The government lies in Smiley and it seemed like Mellisa and Brooke were the only ones that knew that. They had already made theories of why the government did things weird in Smiley. They thought that the reason that they only had one grocery store is so that they can poison the only food the citizens of Smiley can buy. They also thought the reason that they they put nasty stuff in the lake is so if Smiley some how ran out of water they wouldn't be able to drink the lake water. But as you know, they're not in the government so they don't know what's on their mind!
