I woke up the next morning with a headache and got out bed to get ready for school. I heard my mom yelling at my dad on the phone beging him to come home. I really don't understand them anymore. On the outside my family looked so perfect. But it really wasn't. I put my mom's medication on the table and I went outside to smoke because today wasn't the day were I wanted to be sober in school. I just want the day to go by fast. I was walking into the school with blood shot eyes and everyone giving me that look like they know I'm high but they don't want to say anything. I was a different type of high today, I wasn't happy, I was sad. I walked into Chemistry to see Natty staring at me. She looked disapointed. I didn't say anything to her. I just put my head down and waited for the bell to ring so I could leave. I just wanted to go home.
The bell started ringing and I was walking towards the side doors to leave when I heard Natty calling me and when she finally cought up she grabbed my arm.
"Josh what are you doing."
"Going home."
"I can see thatvbut why would you come to school high, I thought you wanted to do better."
"I don't care anymore. This is me and it always was me."
"Josh be the person you could be. You could do so much better."
"No, I'm just gonna end up like my parents and I'm okay with that."
"Josh I thought that I was gonna end up like my parents to, but when I moved here I reliezed I could be something more and so can you."
"Can you just leave me alone."
I just pushed her out of the way and left through the door and kept walking.
I went home and layed on my bed thinking about what she said. I'm never gonna be a guy who wears a suit to work everyday and makes alot of money. That's just not me. She has some dream that she'll be a hairstylest and make alot of money. I don't believe it though because that's just not how our lifes are. I just sighed to myself and I got up to make food.
