Darcy’s P.O.V

Dear diary,

It’s been three days since I’ve seen Liam, and I don’t know why, but I kind of miss that warm, creepy smile. I don’t know why, I mean I’m suppose to keep my distance, I don’t even really like him, so why do I feel weird when he’s not around?

I sighed, and closed my laptop. Jessa wasn’t in our dorm again, and I was lonely, again. So, there was only one thing to do.

I pulled on a pair of ‘Nike’ shorts, and my jogging shoes, grabbed my iphone, and headed out the door. I normally would jog up the street for 2 or so kilometers, then I would go back.

I put on a song, and began jogging. The song was ‘Sweater Weather’ and I almost immediately found myself lost in the music, again.

Come on, faster Darcy, faster.

10 more meters! Faster!

I was running as fast as I could, and didn’t even notice someone standing in my path, until I collided into them.

I landed flat on my bum, and I looked up to see no other than Liam.

“Are you alright?” I asked, Darcy nodded, and stood up, not even bothering to take my outstretched hand.

“Yeah, sorry I didn’t see you” She replied, stepping back a bit. “I thought you said you had classes” I raised my eyebrow, and she stared in surprise, and I could tell she was trying to come up with some clever lie.

“I, uh, I was just” I raised my hand to stop her.

“It’s ok, I get if you didn’t want to talk to me” I sighed, she smiled gratefully, and I kept wondering why she is pushing me away.

“umm, look, you seem sweet but I don’t have time for boys” She exclaimed.

“well, what if I told you, I wasn’t a boy” I said trying to sound serious, she cracked a small smile, but a laugh didn’t find its way to her mouth.

“Then I would say, that explains why you always look at me like a lost puppy “She replied.

“Come on, please can we be friends” I pleaded.

I’m still not sure why I wanted her to be friends with me, maybe it was because she tried to foul me with that fake, ‘I’m ok’ smile, or the lies she tried so hard to make people believe.

“Look, there he is” A voice yelled

And no sooner had the voice spoke, and then we were surrounded by hundreds of flashing cameras.

Oh, crap.

“Come on follow me” I yelled, I grabbed Darcy’s wrist, and I dragged her passed the paparazzi and ran into the nearest building. I pulled up my hood and walked to the back of what looked to be a coffee shop. How ironic.

I turned to face Darcy, and immediately felt bad when I saw her expression. She had a look of a terrified puppy, and she trembled as she looked at me. “I’m so sorry that happened” and I tried to reach for her, but she flinched and stepped back.

“Please stay away from me” She whimpered, I tried again and she let a sob escape her lips as she stepped back again.

“Darcy, I didn’t mean for you to find out that way” I sighed, she was upset and scared that I hadn’t told her earlier, I was guessing she was also claustrophobic.

“Please, stop!” She cried backing up and running out of the shop she passed the paparazzi whom followed after her.

It was then I realized something that made my heart almost break.

She wasn’t scared or upset about the paparazzi.

She was scared of me.
