"It's been almost a week since you haven't talked with her, Ethan. You need to go and see her soon or I'm afraid you will go crazy," Alvah sighed, trying to wake Ethan from his daydream.
"He's right, Ethan. I don't know what this woman has done to you but it's like you're a dead man walking," Sascha agreed, sighing.
"Kufufu, did you hear that, Efrem? Our Lord turned into a zombie." A young girl giggled, looking to the boy next to her on the couch.
"That's fine, Eirene. If he's dead, I'll be more than happy to be named Prince in this place," he answered with a smile.
"As if I would rot that easily, you bastards," Ethan threw a book towards them, but they quickly jumped off the couch and avoided being hit, laughing merrily all the while.
The two were twins, having the same appearance. Even if they were obviously no more than children, one could say that they looked alluring and exotic. They had fascinating, perfect skin, tanned as if it was kissed by the sun while their dark brown locks framed their face like in a painting. The girl's hair reached her waist, curling beautifully all the way while her brother's hair was short, but it could be said that he also had beautiful locks. Both had chocolate brown eyes, hidden by long leashes as they mischievously blinked. Maybe their only difference was their gender after all, since they seemed to be like two peas in a pod. But an even more honest description of them was that they were like a mirror, completing the other in a sweet harmony. Truly, these two children which seemed to have a very deep bond as siblings were bound to become handsome at some point of time.
"Can't you stay put at least once in a while? Your Master's condition is no laughing matter," Sascha glared at them, catching them by the collars of their shirts.
"We know," they replied, turning their big eyes to her while huge smirks adorned their faces.
"Miss Lucia has stolen Ethan's heart," Eirene said, while her brother nodded.
"That's why he's so blue. But that's alright. He'll just die of a broken heart at any rate," Efrem continued but for this comment both children earned themselves a smack from the big sister.
"Hate to say it but Efrem's right. Do you hear me, Ethan? You are seriously in love with her so do something about it before you ruin us all," Alvah continued, but Ethan didn't even look at him. Instead, he was looking on the window of his office.
All demons under his command were gathered in their Lord's office, trying to pursue Ethan out of his hiding. Ever since Lucia tapped into her magic, releasing her fury against him, he locked himself here, depressed just like a lover that faced rejection.
No matter what his household told him, he wouldn't come up from this prison he's created for himself...
"It's no use. He doesn't even listen to us," Sascha groaned, feeling a headache.
"When the Lord is like this, us, his household, can't do anything without his permission. I knew that I shouldn't have given him this title three thousand years ago..."
Ethan's household was made up only of the present persons in the room. Alvah, Sascha, Eirene and Efrem have all sworn their undying loyalty to him, being bound to him by blood oaths. Even if Efrem joked around about him dying and taking over his title, that would have been impossible.
Why?
Because they would never allow him to die.
They would protect their Lord, even sacrificing themselves if needed. But that wasn't because of any blood oath. No...
