Tintin and Anne

Chapter 11

It was hot and Haddock ended up going dizzy from the lack of water in his system . Tintin and Anne tried to keep him up but all that had happen was Haddock repeating 'Land of thirst' over and over .
Anne's ankle was killing her but seeing as nothing they could do, she kept the pain in . Tintin noticed this and often asked her if she was alright . She waved it off as Snowy was very closely watching the young blonde making sure she was able to walk.
Suddenly , Haddock started to off saying that he had found water.
"Captain , it is just a mirage !" Tintin explained, trying to catch his attention. 

Anne, with her twisted ankle in the sand, hurried to follow along with Tintin, ingoring the pain she was feeling throughout that part of her leg. 

Snowy grabbed the suspeners in his mouth and tried to pull the Captiain back, but they snapped and Snowy rolled backwards. Anne gasped as Tintin let her go for a moment to stop the Captain from getting up. 

He repeated what he said before, but the Captain kept mumbling about the Unicorn. And soon he started to tell the once forgotten story. 

Sir Francis was attacked by pirates on the way home from Barados. Rather than fleeing, he decided to fight. But the story stopped when Red Reckham came on aborad. 

Then Haddock realized that he had a beard. And started to cry out " Since when do I have a beard?" 

Anne took this that he was now sober and that the heat was making him even more crazy, in which she never thought it was possiable. 

The trio tried to keep walking until the Captain passed out from the heat. Anne followed as well, but with Tintin holding her by the waist and him about to pass out from the heat as well, they both fell in a slump. Tintin was ontop of Anne as if he was protecting  her from everything. 

Snowy nudged his nose againt his master's head then howled, hoping for someone to hear him. 

It work as some soliders found them and took them to thier camp. 

Tintin and Anne were put in different bed, one next to the other, and Tintin was the first to wake. Snowy was the first to greet him, licking his master's face in delight that he was alive. 

"Hello to you Snowy," he laughed, trying to calm down his dog. 

Snowy barked and turned to Anne who was still passed out. 

Tintin took one look at her and he bounded to her, not caring that he felt dizzy at the moment. Her blonde hair was out in curls, as it would seem the heat made them so. But he actually prefered it that way.

Putting his hand in her hair, he started to play with a strand. He noticed that her ankle was wrapped up and was put on a pillow. A jar of water and a couple of cups were on the nightstand next to them. 

" I'm sorry to drag you into this. As soon as you wake, I am sending you home.  This is much too dangerous for you. I can't lose you, Anne ," he said, as he stared at her face. 

" You say that every time! " Anne said, causing Tintin to jump alittle. 

"Great Snakes,  you were awake! " He exclaimed, as Anne opened her eyes. 

She nodded as she sat up. Tintin blushed a little, hoping that she didn't hear the last part of what he send. 

" Did you mean it ? That you can't lose me ?" she asked, her head tilted a bit. 

Tintin groaned at this as one: he didn't want her to know that and two: Anne looked adorable with her head titled like that. 

Snowy hopped onto her lap and laid down on it. Anne started to pet him as she waited for Tintin to answer. 

" Yes, you are my best friend, Anne. I can't imagine the world without you," he said. 

Anne blushed a bit at the last part, but her heart fell at the words 'best friends'

She was hoping that he would admit to her that maybe he had feelings towards her. But she felt too hopeful. 

" Are you feeling ok?" he asked,seeing her face. 

She nodded. 

" I am going to find someone who is in charge and find out what to do next," he said, turning and not realizing that the person he was looking for was already at the door. 

Tintin felt bad for leaving Anne behind, but she had suffered more injuries then him, thus she needed rest. The man introduced himself as Lt. Delcourt, and explained that they followed Snowy's howls to find them. Tintin was greatful for that and asked serval questions. 

" Can I ask you a question, my dear boy?" he asked. 

Tintin nodded,as it was fair to do. 

" Are you in love with that girl that is with you?" 

Tintin paused and was about to deny it when he noticed the look that Delcourt was giving him. Tintin sighed, knowing it was no use. 

" That girl, Anne, you need to tell her. Don't ever hide it," he said. 

Tintin gave a look of surpise.

" Tintin, I know what it is like trust me. If you don't tell her, you will lose her. And I saw her face when you said, ' Best Friends'. She might take that the wrong way, go to her," Delcourt said. 

Tintin nodded and ran into the room. 

Anne was up and moving when he came in.

" Tintin what's wrong?" She asked. 

Tintin felt like he was going to puke. Fighting with bad guys, going on adventures and saving lost artifacts he can handle, but admiting to his best friend that he is in love with her was the scarist thing that he had to do. 

He couldn't get the words out. So , instead, he held her face in his hand and kissed her on the mouth. Anne froze, but soon melted into the kiss, kissing him back. They pulled each other closer as much as they could. Tintin's hand soon moved down to her waist and pulled her closer to him even tighter. Anne's head was reeling on what is going on, but boy, she was waiting for this for a long time.
