I ended up riding with Hunter since it started to rain.
"I knew you would ride with me" he smiles as he tells me this, yet again
"Say one more thing and I will start walking home" I declare
"In this rain? I doubt Princess" he winks at me.
Once he parked his car to his house, he invited me in which I refused but him being Hunter, he insisted so here I am having a small talk with his parents in their living room.
"I didn't know James had a younger sister until I heard the news that you were moving in with him" Mrs. Stone says as she gives me a slice of cake
"I guess it's something James doesn't share a lot to people" I faked a smile
"Where is he anyways?" Mr. Stone asks me this time
"Well, I would say he's at work but then, I'm not really sure where he is" I shrug
"If ever you're alone in your house, you're always free to come over alright?" Mrs. Stone offers me
"Besides, James is sort of family already and we'd be happy to have you over as well" Mr. Stone adds
"Well, I'll let you know if I'm coming over" I answer politely
"It's been a long night and Candace here is tired. Aren't you Candace?" Hunter wraps an arm around my shoulder and started walking to the front door. I saw Mr. and Mrs. Stone shaking their heads trying to hide their laughs.
"Thank you for the cake Mrs. Stone!" I call out as he walks me out of his house
"I guess this is where we part" I look up to Hunters face which ended up with us looking at each other's eyes
"Who said that?" he smiles but his eyes never left mine
"I just assumed since you kicked me out of your house" I sarcastically say
"And here I was trying to be a gentle man offering to walk you home but it's too late for that anyways. This sexy beast is tired. Good Night Candace!" he goes in his house and literally slams the door in my face. That cocky bastard!
The good thing the rain stopped and I just went in our house. James still wasn't here and I don't think he'll be back anytime soon. Instead, I sat on the couch and just watched a movie while wondering where James would have headed with Alyssa.
I woke up to my body swaying and some movement under me.
"Shhhhh. Go back to sleep, I'll tuck you in bed" It's James carrying me back to my bed
"What took you so long?" I mumble sleepily to his chest
"I'll tell you about it tomorrow" he says as he lays me on my bed and he lay beside me
"Okay" I say half awake
"Night baby sister." I felt him place a kiss on my forehead and he hugs me and with that, I just fell asleep.

I was watching TV in the living room when I heard the door open and I see James come in the house.
"Hey Candace, just got home from school?" James says as he sits down beside me in the couch still in his suit and everything.
"Yeah, it was just a chill day today. What's up?" I lean my head on his shoulder
"We have this dinner thing tomorrow at work, do you want to join me?" he asks me
"Yeah sure, no problem with that" I smile.
