"And 5, 4, 3, 2, 1! Happy New Year everybody!" Everyone from the dinner party greets and shouts
"Happy New Year Princess" Hunter smiles at me and kisses my cheek as the clock strikes 12 - I was expecting a different kind of kiss
"Happy New Year Hunter" I smile at him and hug him as we watch the firework show that has started
New Years. The time where you can start anew, make new friends, and most of all, make new memories.
Days before Christmas
"Hunter, put that back!" I yell as he grabs one flower that's supposed to be by the Christmas Tree and puts it in his head
"Don't you think I look fabulous?" Hunter asks in a girly tone
"I knew you were gay" I muttered and rolled my eyes
"Hey! That's not fair!" Hunter smiles and takes off the flower and places it on the Christmas Tree
"I can't believe it's already Christmas" I sigh, smiling at the progress we've done so far for the Christmas Tree
"What do you want for Christmas Princess?" Hunter casually asks as he puts up one of the ornaments on the tree
"I just want to be with family and friends this Christmas" I smile, thinking how much fun it would be with family and friends
"We should ask James and my parents if we could hold a party at the company" Hunter suggests
"An open party where can invite all our friends!" I say excitedly
"Plus with you and me as organizers? I think we'll manage" Hunter says and hands me an ornament
"It's better if it's gonna be on the New Years" I hear James' voice from the doorway
"So you approve?" I ask James
"Of course I do, the only problem is this kiddos parents" James points to Hunter
"It's New Year! They won't be kill joys" Hunter says exasperatingly
"Remember that one time when yo-"
"Yeah, fine. I'll talk to them!" Hunter cuts James off
"What one time?" I ask looking from James then to Hunter then to James again
"It's nothing Candace" Hunter says while massaging his temples
"Let's just say that Hunter's parents are total kill joys" James leaves it at that not telling me what it is all about
"I will convince them. Do not worry" Hunter shrugs and hands me another ornament
"Well, I'm heading out to buy some stuff. Do you guys want anything?" James says leaning on the door frame
"Cheetos please" Hunter says nonchalantly
"Yeah Cheetos is good. Just one, Hunter and I can share" I answer James
"Anything else?" James asks
"No, I'm good" we both answer simultaneously
"If you two keep on hanging out with each other, you are both going to start to look alike" James shakes his head and walks out the door, leaving us both alone
"So how about that party?" Hunter winks and I just roll my eyes at him
"And you are sure your parents are going to agree to it?" I ask
