The green light almost seemed blinding, Michael having to squint as the two of them walked through. It acted like a doorway, Rick and Michael standing on alien ground as the portal closed behind them. "We're starting off si--uurp--mple." Rick stated.
"This is so cool!" Michael sounded like a child, Rick rolling his eyes. "What are we gonna do? Fight some monster? Find treasure?" He continued to ask questions in rapid fire, Rick not able to answer any of them with the half-second of time between each one.
Rick hushed Michael, the brown-haired man going silent. "Not exactly," Rick began to speak. "We're here to get the mega seeds from the mega trees." Michael seemed to be dissapointed by this news, Rick noticing this. They began to walk. The world seeming to be overcome by nature.
"That's it?" Michael asked,Rick nodding. "C'mon Rick, look around! Isn't this facinating?" Rick shrugged, Michael sighing. "You would be the one to think this was boring?" He had a mocking tone in his voice.
"And you would be the one to make a big deal out of no--oourgh--thing." He looked at mucgael, smirking as he saw his eye twitch. Whenever Rick would tease Michael, either his eye or the corner of his mouth would twitch--it was almost like his signature--unique. "Besides, if you do good on this one, I'll take you on dangerous errands."
Michael scowled. "Rick, you're acting like I'm a damn child. You know I hate that." Rick nodded. "So fuckin stop it." Rick shrugged, Michael huffing.
Michael stopped walking, taking in the scene; vivid yellow and blue grass at his feet, orange-red rocks with diamond deposits evetwhere, creatures like large insects, and up to the green sky with purple clouds. It was beautiful. Yet Rick had seen this place hundreds of times, Michael still facinated. He was drawn out of his thoughts as Rick hit him in the head, Michael glaring at him.
"Come on, let's go before something decides to eat you for dinnet." Rick joked, Michael rolling his eyes.
"It'd me for adventurous than this." He joked back, Rick frowning. Michael didn't know why he frowning until he noticed Rick was looking behind him. "Wha--" Michael was going to turn to see what was behind him but Rick shook his head.
"Don't move, maybe it doesn't know we're here yet." Rick told him. Michael was scared, his legs like jelly. His imagination was on overdrive, his mind showing a large grasshopper like creature with teeth bigger than him--green venom dripping onto his shoulders and so forth. After a few minutes, the was something almost like a meow, the only difference being a small bee-like buzz in it. Michael turned around, there being a small bug cat; it's normal fur was replaced with a beetle's shell, but other than that, it had bright orange fur with two little dots on its nose, and the eyes of a fly. It's tail looked like hat of a scorpion and had the feeder of a butterfly, as well as the antennae and six legs of a bee.
Michael scowled as Rick laughed, the tiny creature purring. Michael picked it up, it seeming to want to go with them. "Very funny, asshole." Michael told rick, turning to face him again. Rick went silent after a moment, him actually looking confused.
Before Michael could ask what was wrong, Rick ran. "I'm not falling for it again." Michael shouted, him freezing at the large shadow he was enveloped in. The trembling man slowly turned as a bright green slime was dropped on his shoe, it keeping his foot in place as it solidified. "Oh my god..."Michael mumbled before giving a loud scream. He took his shoe off, quickly breaking it out of the junk and making a run for it with his little buddy.
Rick was miles a head of him, the gigantic spider, it bigger than florida, quickly caught up with him. The fur was brown and it had eyes like the night sky. Michael felt one large fang stab his jacket, scraping his back. He was running until he was lifted off the ground by the fang, him now grabbing at the tooth for dear life as a girl-ish scream came from him.
Rick turned to see this, quickly sighing and groaning in anger. He ran behind a rock, Michael not able to see due to him on the verge of tears. The creature got to the edge of a cliff, and dangled Michael over it, taunting him. "Hey!" Michael shouted before screaming again. There was a loud sound, the fur next to the fang he was holding onto going cold.
It happened too fast, the creature holding Michael over the edge now frozen. A few minutes passed, him trying to get away until he noticed his hand was frozen as well. He panicked, yanking free--but soon grabbing onto the arm still frozen in place.
Michael heard Rick climbing up, one of the eight legs breaking off. Rick had gotten to him, the creature now down to six legs after a while, Michael almost throwing up. "Grab my hand you idiot!" Rick shouted, him being close to Michael now. He reached out to grab Rick's extended hand, him managing to pull the frozen arm out of the ice, putting it under his actual real arm. Rick saw this and noticed the empty socket where his left sleeve just hung there. "What the--" Rick couldn't ask about the whole 'one fake arm' thing seeing as how they were now on a creature with three legs, it wobbling. Michael almost screamed, but Rick managed to help him. They were half-way down, Rick noticing the creature was about to lose two legs. "Okay, you trust me, right?" Rick asked.
Michael nodded. "Wh-why?" He asked.
Rick yanked Michael, Rick feeling Michael fit his back and grab his lab coat. Michael screamed, Rick scowling. "Will you st--uurp-op screaming!?" He shouted, Michael going silent. "What are you, afraid of hights?!" The lack of a response told rick that yes-he was afraid of hights. He let out a long sigh. "Put your arms around my neck and don't let go." Rick demanded him, Michael doing just that.
"Now, wrap your legs around my stomach," Rick ordered, not wanting Michael's legs to get in the way of climbing. Michael did so--but more or less hooked his legs around his waist, Michael looking like a koala on Rick's back. "Don't look dow--"
"Too late." Michael mumbled, him seeing one leg break off, it now standing on two with one second away from breaking off. The whole creature was shaking, the small cat creature clutched onto Michael's real arm buzzing in fright. Rick climbed quickly until he was a few feet from the ground. He saw the final two legs were going to break soon, and he gritted his teeth as Michael's nails dug into his neck.
"I'm gonna jump!" Rick shouted.
"Are you fucking insane!?" Michael shouted at him, but Rick nodded and jumped, the two landing on the ground with a thud and tumbling to the ground. Just as they jumped, the creature shattered, it going over the edge. Rick sat there, Michael holding onto him. "You can let go now," Rick told him, Michael seeming to hyperventilate. Rick sighed, the two of them staying there until he calmed down, Rick eventually prying Michael off him.
"Sorry," Michael mumbled in an extreamly nervous chuckle, Rick giving a half smirk.
"Don't be." He commented, looking over the side of the cliff and seeing all of the mega trees. "Just try not to die."
