"Happy birthday, Carly."
I opened the present; my jaw was left open as I took the gift out of its box. I mouthed the word 'Wow', looking at Ansel.
I could see him. Ansel was there. I could touch his hand, I could feel his presence.
Tears started to form, blurring my vision. I covered my mouth as I pressed my lips to stop them from quivering.
The smile from Ansel's face started to fade, "What's wrong?"
I sniffed, pulling Ansel close for a hug, "I miss you so much..."
"Carly...?" I could feel Ansel's fingers run through my hair, "I'm sorry. I've caused you so much pain."
"Please, come back..."
"But, I AM back."
I pulled away, fluttering my eyes as I gawked at him, puzzled by what he last said.
Ansel smiled so sincere, "And I'll never leave you again."
I smiled in a goofy manner, trying to stop my tears from falling.
Ansel tucked my hair behind my ear, "Now wake up."
I gave him a baffled look.
"Wake up."
I started to flutter my glued shut eyes; the brightness coming from the rays of the sunlight shooting from my window was enough to wake me.
I sat up a bit crouched, rubbing my eye and stretching afterwards. Everything seemed normal.
It was nothing but a stupid dream again.
I scratched the back of my head, letting my eyes roam around the room.
As soon as the tip of my toes hit the floor, I suddenly felt numb; it was as if the floor beneath me was not present, at all. I rose one of my feet, and put it down to touch the floor, once more. But there was nothing; I couldn't even feel my feet.
Looks like I had a really good sleep, and I need to do some walking.
I've experienced this before, multiple times. My nerves must have gone numb or something; the kind of feeling like that part of your body is wrapped in something and you can't feel anything.
I couldn't even feel my thighs; all I could feel was the palpitation my heart was making.
I was no nervous. I'm not having a mental break down. There was nothing unusual, at all. But there it was, my heartbeat raising for no particular reason.
I tried to brush it off, and stood up--...
THUD!
"Fuck."
One thing I forgot about that numb-ness thing; whenever one feels it happening in the legs or even feet, make sure to grab something because you will be having a real hard time walking.
Fluffy immediately rushed to my aid; and by aid, I mean his licking kisses. He was sniffing me and going around me, as if he was really checking my condition.
I bopped my head to look at him with a smile, scratching his head, "I'm fine, Fluffy. Thanks for your concern."
But he just licked my face even more.
I assumed my knees were bruised, and I started to worry about my numb legs & feet, since I could not tell if I sprained my ankle or something.
I tried to pick myself up by carrying my whole weight with my arms, trying to grab on something to help me pull myself up, something enough to sit myself down and lean on my bed, letting Fluffy rest on my lap as I waited for my legs to go back to normal.
