Washington High Presents: The Sound of Music!
Jungkook, Jimin, Namjoon, Hoseok, Yoongi, and Jin sat together, three rows of chairs back from the main stage.
Taehyung sat on the farthest left seat, in the very front row, by himself. His seat happened to be directly adjacent to where Nicola sat, playing the show's soundtrack on the piano.

When the lights dimmed to black, Jin rested his head against Namjoon's shoulder, causing Namjoon to jolt slightly, though he immediately recovered and subsided back into comfort. As the opening number began, Jin slowly hummed along (he had been at school every day during rehearsals, so he had the lyrics memorized). Namjoon felt Jin's jaw vibrate with each note. Jin's eyes closed slightly as he enjoyed the soft melodies and delicate piano in the song.
"This is great," Jin whispered to Namjoon without taking his eyes off of the stage.
"Yeah," Namjoon answered quietly, "It's the first school play I've been to,"
No answer.
Namjoon could tell Jin appreciated this musical—more than words could describe. It was Jin's silence and awe that spoke the loudest. He was entranced.
The next notable number was famous—even outside of the highschool. A male actor began the tune.
**You are sixteen going on seventeen
Baby, it's time to think
Better beware, be canny and careful
Baby, you're on the brink**"Hey," Jin laughed, "That's you,"
"What do you mean?" Namjoon chuckled, confused.
"'Sixteen, going on seventeen'," Jin explained, leaning harder into Namjoon's shoulder.
**I am sixteen going on seventeen
I know that I'm naive
Fellows I meet may tell me I'm sweet
And willingly I believe**"And that's you!" Namjoon whispered enthusiastically to Jin.
"What?" Jin interrogated.
"'Fellows I meet may tell me I'm sweet'," Namjoon began, "In this case, you're the fellow."
Jin laughed and turned his head upward to look at Namjoon, who looked back down at him.
As the song drew to a close, the actor and actress on stage shared a kiss before exiting on opposite sides of the stage.
With their faces merely centimeters apart, Jin looked down shyly, and kissed the very base of Namjoon's neck. Namjoon let out a soft but sharp breath, and the pair broke out into quiet, child-like laughter. The type of laughter you'd take part in during a first slow-dance in middle school, or a first kiss beneath the slide at recess.
"Sweet," Namjoon sighed, turning away and wrapping one arm across Jin's shoulders, pulling him closer.
"Yeah," Jin hummed, putting one arm across Namjoon's stomach, and curling up his legs onto the chair, "Sweet..."

As the play drew to a close, Nicola rose from the piano bench, and flattened the skirt of her dress. Eager to congratulate the cast members, she began to walk up the steps of the stage, where the cast had just finished their final bows. Then, she felt a hand clenched around her wrist. She spun around.
"Oh!" Nicola sighed with relief, "It's just you,"
"Sorry if I scared you!" Taehyung mumbled, looking at the floor with a bashful expression.
