Chapter 4: Come to Life with a Story to Tell

A/N: OMG I AM SSSOOOOO SORRY! I meant to post way earlier, I really did, but then EOGs came and the last week of school, and B-Day parties and food poisoning. Don't ask, I'm still not feeling okay. 😷

Focus: Scarlett

Scarlett was in the room, playing with the dolls. When she rubbed their heads or hugged them, the hazel eye turned pink. If she hit them, the hazel eye turned red. If she imitated them, their hazel eye would turn yellow.

"Geez, how much more can you guys do?"

"A lot of things." The dolls said in unsion. They had very high voices, but it wasn't creepy-like. It was just weird.

* * * *

"Running as fast as I can!"

Scarlett was running away from whatever those things really were. She screamed so loud, the whole mansion heard her. But no one bothered to do anything, she still had a lot to learn about the mansion.

"Zielly!! Did you know about this?!" Scarlett asked when she came across Zielly.

"N-No, sorry. But, can they really talk?"

"That's the point. I don't know. Either they do talk or I'm going crazy!!!"

Eyeless Jack came over and started towards Scarlett.

"A-Are you ok?!"

"I-I'm fine.."

"A-Are you sure?" He leaned closer to Scarlett, as if trying to see if she was ok.

"I-I'm fine!! I promise..."

"Ok..."

He left. Zielly had somehow managed to slip away to play video games with Ben.

"Geez, way to leave a twin behind..."

Focus: Zielly

"Winning, Winning, winning!" Zielly shouted.

"Grrr..." Ben growled. He continuously tried to beat Zielly, but he just couldn't for some reason.

"Wait a minute..." Ben thought. "There is a cheat to this game..."

"Aaaww, Ben. That's not fair!"

"Tch, it is in my book." Ben smirked playfully, as if to tease Zielly.

Zielly mock pouted and turned around. "Hmph!"

She then felt a pair of arms wrap around her.

"Aw, don't be sad. That would ruin the fun, wouldn't it?" Ben looked down at Zielly.

"Wow, Ben. Just all of a sudden feel sorry, or what?"

Ben turned away, cheeks red.

"So what if I did?"

"Heh, yeah, okay." Zielly smiled, looking up at Ben.

Ben ruffled Zielly's hair as they went back to playing video games.

Focus: Scarlett

Scarlett wandered back to her room, the dolls still sitting on the bed.

She stopped dead in her tracks, looking at the dolls.

"A lot of things..."

Their previous words rang in Scarlett's mind.

Slowly, she walked over to them.

"Hello."

"Hi." Their voices sounded almost robot like, but somewhat human. Yet their mouths did not nice when they spoke.

"How can you guys talk?"

"Gift of life."

"What?"

"You and Zielly hold a power within."

"What?!"

"A delicate power."

"Um..."

"Protect it with your life." Their voices started to sound raspy and metallic.

"Huh?"

"Or else the worst will come."

"Wait, what?!"

The dolls stopped talking. Their eyes turned off.

"Wait, no, don't just-Gah!"

She threw her hands in the air out of frustration and fell backwards onto the bed.

"Geez. What a day."
